A little knife with a big hole

#1

Post by dialex »

Hello friends.

Thank God it's weekend and what can be better than a new knife?

Considering there's been some time since I shared with you my creations, I have the honour and pleasure to introduce to you the "Gentlebug II" - yes, it's an update to a (much) older knife I've shown here some time ago and I hope you'll also consider the differences significant enough to worth posting.

Specs: Titanium handles with integral (modified) frame lock, full flat ground blade made out of S30V (or Stellite 3K if you preffer) . OAL is about 5" and blade length is a wee bit longer than 2". Blade thickness is 2.5 mm (like the Delica's) and the opening hole is 13 mm (a bit larger than the Delica's).

I hope you'll enjoy watching it. Have a great weekend.

Hi Alex - Good to see that you still have some spare time to tinker around with some old designs bringing in possible refinements.
This one is excellent and looks like a real keeper. Over the years my knives have become smaller and smaller. They still serve the same tasks......
Say Hi to your girl and the boys!
Have a great weekend.

Clipits work!

Hi dialex,

What the little hole a the bottom of the blade for? It looks like you are only access it when the knife if open.

BTW the knife looks really cool. I love the orginal and would buy one (or more) of these to go with it.

Cheers,

It reminds me alot of the Allen Blade 'Chipmunk', which is/was a small neck knife (FB). I like the clip set-up! I would love to see live protos.

Good Work!

I found a pic of the "Chipmunk" a couple minutes ago. Never seen it before. I find it beautiful (strange, huh? ). And what an astonishing resemblance!
Thanks for the heads up, Wouter.

Thank you again.
What I forgot to mention before is since there is a custom made, it is available both for righties and lefties (upon request).

Great design , no lefty ? . Dialex , you are slowly converting me to appreciate smaller knives which eventually will cause me to become bankrupt .

I really dig the "BUG II", and would buy one(I'm very picky).

The Chipmunk looks more like a "TOP'S" design.

Nice Work !
