Let's get him a Spyderco Li'l Temperance. On the left-side, it will say "To Craig from all of your friends at the Spyderco Forum" and, one the right-side, it will have the engraving from the "All God's Critters" poster.

I just sent Joyce Laituri a note on this. Depending upon what she says will decide how hard I try to hit everyone up for money (and at worst, I'll only hit you up for $10).

Also, please let me thank each and every one of you for stepping up to the plate. Assuming CKE stays out of this thread, he's going to have one heck of a get-well gift surprize!

Aloha Thom,

I THINK Craig has oone of those...he mentioned something about the "leaf blade" and he disliked the "rhino bladed one"...not ABSOLUTELY certain though.

E ya later!

Craig just posted in another thread that he's thinking about the Chinook II for his next purchase.

Thanks, Chad and David!

I also tried to wheedle some info from casual conversation. In doing so, Craig mentioned wanting a tan, tip-up version of the Paramilitary or a slightly larger, spey-bladed version of the jigged bone Kiwi, also with a tip-up clip. Of those two, the tan G10 Paramilitary seems the most do-able, especially with the help of Ron or Woodchuc and a stock, three-hole pocket clip such as the kind found on the Calypso Jr.

So, while waiting for Monday and Joyce to see the email I sent her, I send another email asking about a tan Paramilitary.

You guys rule. You do know that, don't you?

When asking him,you may get the awnser that he is giveing as to a EDC knife. Most likely he will not carry this one much but display it.IMO he would like any knife done up with the engaveing you are talking about.
I know I would love a Lil Temp like the one you describe, plus the G10 Lil Temp will not be around next year.

Here's the scoop:

Joyce Laituri and Sal Glesser will be sending Craig the double-engraved Spyderco Lil' Temperance. Joyce suggested that we send our contributions directly to Craig. Even with insurance, his family will be suffering from a loss of income as CKE's not likely going to be doing a month of double-shifts for quite a while. Plus, when you were a kid, it was always neat to open a card with money.

I don't have his address yet, but if everyone could send him a get-well card with the money you were going to pitch in for the get-well knife, that would be greatly appreciated. If he has Paypal, we could send it to him even quicker.

Please don't post him address on the forums, but if anyone could send me Craig's mailing address at thombrogan@hotmail.com or tbrogan1@mindspring.com please accept my thanks in advance.

Best wishes, everyone,

Can't beat that Spyder crew.
Thom, now that it is all set up why not let him in on it.You could then get his Paypal address posted or if he doesn't have one he could give you his real address.

He's probably on dial-up like some others of us here, so no large-file emails to him.

In the meantime, I'm trying to get his address and will email it to everyone that dropped me a line when I do.

J Smith,

Wouldn't it be more fun to have the surprize broke by Craig opening a box from Golden with a special Lil' Temperance inside?

Joyce from Spyderco's Golden office gave me permission to reprint the following email:

Knife goes out today and it looks good. Thanks for forwarding the cash contributions to Craig. All of you on the forum are big- and kind-hearted. Rare in today's world!!

Thanks again,
Joyce @ Spyderco
