Nice work... interesting about the crack in the 110. Must have been gripped under stress? Probably indicative of very high hardness
K-390 on hand: Mule Team 17, Police 4 G-10, Endela (burlap micarta), Endela backup, Endura (canvas micarta), Straight Stretch (now blade-swapped with G-10 Stretch), Delica Wharncliffe, Dragonfly Wharncliffe, & Dragonfly Wharncliffe shorty mod
Note to self: Less is more.

I said to myself "that looks like African Blackwood".
After I researched it, it IS African Blackwood.
I have the Wusthof Ikons in Blackwood, and have 5-6 sets of blackwood scales, including two for hidden tang fixed blades, in the workshop.
Very resinous, and laughs at water.
NICE, thank you for sharing.

And... they make clarinets out of it!

Nicely done, Tomas! I really like the look of the contouring - and the Blackwood is extremely classy.

If you look closely at the first pic, you will see the diffusion where the 500# micro-bevel reflects less mirror.

But it's a working horse.....right?

I'm just finishing up a trio of mules and will have some pics to share soon.

Are folks liking the K-390 or S110V better so far (understanding limited time)?

MadRookie: Very impressive working edge :) . May I ask how you maintain such a consistent angle while stropping? Freehand?!?

Hi & welcome to the forum write2dgray.

I maintain all my knives stropping freehand on leather with 1µ poly diamond - guess after so much time muscle memory takes over & it comes naturally.

The S110V mule is definitely thinner behind the edge than its K390 counterpart - have not used mine as yet - time will tell, although judging by tests from others it looks as if K390 has slightly better edge retention.
