Unbelievable prices. Last time I bought it, it was $9.98 for a 550 round value pack. Won't be buying any soon at these prices.

Exactly. I realize we here in the US have it somewhat better, but I am used to paying $10 - $20 per 500.Clip wrote:Unbelievable prices. Last time I bought it, it was $9.98 for a 550 round value pack. Won't be buying any soon at these prices.

But the thing is that nobody has any to sell. It is still very scarce. There are lots of rumors that Obama is buying it and dumping it in the ocean. This seems farfetched but OTOH there is not enough of it hitting store shelves to support the argument that people are buying it all up. It is getting intercepted before it gets to stores.w3tnz wrote:you guys in the states have no idea how good you have it
I don't know why it is so high in other countries. There is enough of it manufactured in countries outside of the US that it should be dirt cheap. Maybe the NZ government is getting rich on import duties. The stuff used to be commonly imported into the US and sold cheaper than the stuff that was manufactured here and sold for what everybody else thought was cheap prices. If it can be imported here and sold cheaply, it should be able to be imported into any other country and sold cheaply. But then I think the same thing about knives- why is a knife that is made in China able to be imported into the US and sold so cheaply when it can't be imported into a country that is closer to China and sold just as cheaply?

Yeah. Some local places have some in stock, but as expected, they're charging a ridiculous amount. They're doing the same with .223 rounds.

Same here with the .22's and, while I don't keep track of .223, all handgun ammo is sky high. The only thing you can get at a halfway reasonable price is 12 ga. buckshot loads.Officer Gigglez wrote:Yeah. Has anyone seen any .357 lately? I saw some at a Dicks in Maryland but didn't want to deal with bringing them back on the plane (if I even can)

A local gun store has it, and he manages to keep it in stock. I think I paid something like $3-4 for a box of Remington Yellowjackets. He never seems to have any trouble getting ammo, so I'm not sure why everyone else does.
Consumers are still buying ammo in panic mode, and I have a feeling most of it is bought and paid for before it manages to hit the sales floor.

I think there is something funny going on with .22's because it's hard to imagine that being the only ammo that's impossible to find right now. I don't know if it has to do with the Obama administration forcing the lead smelter in Missouri out of business or removing all lead from ammo by 2018 or what. Either way it's Obama closing in on us on one hand with anti gun measures and on the other with measures related to ammo.

? 22 is in highest demand because more people shoot it than any other cal. Before the run Americans shot 13 million rounds per day. I split 2 tubs into 1 hundred round bags and sold them at no profit the many shooters. Norma is going to be sending them here to the USA by the millions soon to help us out. Do not hoard that is a lot of the problem.I saw wildcat selling for $66.00 per 500 a a show last week.do not pay the price and it will fall.By the way the Un and over 100 anti gun organizations have spent over 10 billion in the last 10 years against us. The Un wants the dictator to sign a small arms treaty look out!!!!! The Un is a friend only to the world bankers.
I saw some but it was carried off by a Yeti...
Here is what is happening. There are like 10 guys who go to your Walmart EVERY morning, and they buy the 3 boxes they are allowed to buy. Keep in mind they are more or less sitting on 50,000 rounds in their homes, but they keep buying it. Since it is then scare they keep going every morning and buying it all. No lie this is what happens.
Around here you can get pretty much anything else at this point and prices are not all that bad. 50 rounds of 9mm might run you $16. .40 S&W and .45 ACP are just sitting on shelves. They even have a pretty good stock of 5.56 too. 9mm can be a bit hit or miss at times.
