Everyone is always telling about the little "love bites" and nips from their Spyders.
Soo..,
What does everyone do when they cut themselves?
Band Aid and salve?
Super Glue?
Leave it alone?
First, and worst, time was one night with my old style Delica I had just received for that Christmas Day.
Playing with paper, turning strips into confetti, I came too close to my thumb and forefinger!
Took off 1/3 of my thumbnail, and a deep diagonal cut across my forefinger.
I had been laying on the floor, and of course i got up and did the obligatory spinning dance of suprise and dismay, lightly spattering the walls. (took a few days before the thumbnail turned up!
Mind you this was 1 AM. Woke up my parents, and wrapped everything up in the obligatory toilet paper.
Only 15 Minutes later, on the way to the ER, did it start to hurt, so sharp was the blade.
So they stitched my fingertip back together after probing and poking to make sure I had not done any nerve damage.
Let me tell you, Telfa Pads are not always non stick!
For the
First few Bandage redressings it took saline solution to help dissolve things! Thank goodness nothing got infected.
Knife Knut on a shoestring budget.

lets see... nicest knife *cut* I've done to myself was a serrated kitchen knife, pushed a bit hard cutting potatoes in 1/2, put the blade into my index on the joint. Superglue first, then duct tape to keep the water and food particles out....
best stab with 1/2" of millie tip into my thigh... bleed to clot, and then a tensor over it.

Best/worst was with the PE blade on my Gerber Multitool the very day I got it. Showing it to my girlfriend I slashed my right index finger--nice straight incision. (Lots of blood--kinda cool for an EMT in a way...) managed to do a pressure dressing one-handed, then to the local ED where a very good looking doctor stiched me up. Never made that mistake again. Usually a simple pressure dressing works unless it needs stiches...I've been shown how to do that but never wanted to try it on myself...
I tend to clean the area (when I can be bothered) with surgical spirit or lab grade ethanol. Plasters are rubbish but I have to cover any and all breaks in the skin when working with radiation. I find that a flexible colloidion is perfect for sealing and waterproofing, usually use Germolene Nu-skin.

Sorry for the delay in reply; been away from a reliable internet connection.
I assume it was the flexible collodion that caused confusion. It is a mixture of castor oil and colophony in a base made from pyroxylin dissolved in a 3:1 mixture of ether:90% alcohol. It is used to seal small cuts and wounds because it dries out quickly to form a waterproof layer over the area it is applied to. It also draws the edges of the cut together. Germolene Nu-skin is a variation on this.

hmm... usually teh first thing i do is say "****, that was stupid...." then i usually just sterilize (peroxide usually) apply some neosporin and a band aid and i'm on my way. had some good bleeders in my day, too many to list here. best stab i ever got though was 1" wide by 1.5" deep in my right thigh. that took 3 stitches.
