S110V and 4V upcoming?
So I have to rethink my next-to-buy list! Thank you Sal for the info and for the whole Mule Team concept!
I really regret not getting the 8Cr13MoV and BD1 as I would use one of them as a blank for handle-/sheathmaking, and of course for all the dirtier cutting jobs :D
Hello Guys:
First: Thanks to Sal and all the others for the idea and concept of the Mule. By now I have 3 to compare (one faster dull than the others) and can't await the next run. Any News on a release date of #18?
Best Martin
Sal just posted an update on bladeforums the other day. Apparently they are in QC already and should be released sometime soon after the SHOT show, so hopefully early Feb?
& Welcome!
"They should be in QC this week and next. Probably won't be out until after SHOT show.*sal"
Has anyone confirmed which steel is coming next?
Reading through this thread I see S-110V, 3V mentioned, also K294 but not by Sal, but I haven't seen confirmation of the order.
edit: I just went into the Spyderco subforum on BF for the first time, awesome
"We received some CPM-4V, enough to make a Mule Team."

I'm pulling for 4V, buy I'll take what I can get! :D
K-390 on hand: Mule Team 17, Police 4 G-10, Endela (burlap micarta), Endela backup, Endura (canvas micarta), Straight Stretch (now blade-swapped with G-10 Stretch), Delica Wharncliffe, Dragonfly Wharncliffe, & Dragonfly Wharncliffe shorty mod Note to self: Less is more.
So...SHOT show is over, are those mules ready to ship???
I have been holding onto my spending money tightly, waiting for this to happen.
I will admit the blue CF Domino and the new kitchen knives have tugged at my pockets, but I am standing strong waiting for another mule or two.

Hello Sal,
First off, thanks for being around for stuff like this.
I thought a bit about your question as to whether or not us Mule-folk would still be interested in a CTS-204P mule since the steel is already in production. Now, after all the speculation and hub-bub over the next mule (4V, S110V, Adamantium...)... My question is this: If there is a consideration to release a Mule in S110V even though there already is a blade in production for it, maybe an interesting thing to do with these "used" steels would be to experiment with some blade coatings? Other than DLC, etc.?

First post on the Spyderco forum, but I have been on BladeForums for some time now.
I do not have a fixed blade Spydie yet, so I am eagerly awaiting the next Mule. Late to this collection, but I intend to collect at least a single specimen of future steels.
My question is about the above quoted post, if Sal has mentioned they already have a quantity of 4v on hand, and then he mentioned 110v and others are already in discussion, does that mean the next Mules could be released in succession more quickly? :)

I thought there was some way to subscribe to a forum - but I can't find it. I was going to suggest subscribing to the New Product Announcements subforum. :spyder:
Usually Kristi posts a thread in the Spyderco General Discussion area with details a week or two before they go on sale. So just keep your eyes peeled.

Go up to the top right corner, under where it lists the pages, and click on Thread Tools. It's under there.
