Another Ambitious. This time I used Bocote wood for the scales.

I'm growing to appreciate the tenacious line more and more, especially with pics like this of sweet custom scale jobs. Maybe I'll get there, one day.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Thanks to BOOMER52 for the great help with this!

The white certainly gets dirty easily, but the discoloration accents the edges of the gator scale texture.

I had to round off the edge by the choil - it was seriously sharp and dug right into my finger - one too many times.

Not a Spydie today, but my new 9mm lock bar stabilizer. Doing it myself was a whole lot cheaper than buying one, the actual Hinderer model costs twice what this knife does (Cryo). However theirs look a lot neater than mine, but I did mine entirely with a Dremel. The screw is off center so I may have another go at it. Pretty easy to do. Cutting a good, centered hole would be much easier with a drill press, I used vice grips and a Dremel.

Lol, I wish I would have had some more interesting brass than Blazer lying around. I did find some nickel .38 special empties, maybe I'll try to get one of them to fit.

Looks like a .40 S&W might fit as well, is there room? 9mm = 3.92" (9.96mm) & 40 cal = .424" or 10.8mm.

The Cryo is a nice knife! Esp. for the money. I like your mod, although if you can get it more centered I would.

It seems like it would work, might be a bit tight. I'd give it a try but I gave up on .40 S&W years ago. Lol, there's a pretty good chance there's still some rolling around the house somewhere...

Yeah, that'll be the plan. I didn't even think about it until I took those pictures.

Honestly, I don't really like the knife. I like the idea of it, but I don't like the ergonomics, and it's ungodly heavy.

I put some anti-slip tape at the back side .
It will help to close knife with one hand easier.

Good idea, hs1sco. And welcome to the forum. :) I don't use my Manix because of how hard it is to close one handed. I know I can use thumb and finger and let the blade drop, but that's stupid to me.
