2 and 2. One of the Natives is for the old man...I think I'll use the Mules to practice scale making :)
Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.

I was able to get my order in. Forgot about daylight savings. Got on at 6:30 my time and order went right in. Took a little over 7 hours before I got an email confirmation. Got alittle nervous about that.

It didn't so much crash for me as deny that I lived in a real state. Being a Californian, one gets used to that sort of thing on the web. ;)

Thanks for the suggestion but I think they are truly sold out, and being on the other side of the world with a toll bar ruled out a phone order anyway. It's ok though instead of crying about it I'll just have to pick up a Ti delica instead, life could be worse.

One of each, and this will be my first mule :D I'm planning to use both, but it may take me a little while to start using the Native. My order confirmation came 17 minutes after the sale opened, so I can't complain. I got the same error message as everyone else several times for each item, ignored it, hit the back button and next step button and finally got both in the cart. Still no shipping notice, but I opted for the free S&H, so I'm not expecting it to ship before Friday at the earliest.

My congrats to those who got their orders in, condolences to those who didn't for one reason or another, and thanks to the Spyderco crew for making all of this possible! :)

I got my one. Now I play the waiting game until it gets here on Tuesday. Thanks to the Spyder Crew for their patience with us.

Just one!
I'm feeling really lucky. I had a couple of issues with the various already reported problems, but just hit the back button, then resubmitted, it went through after a couple of tries with each issue. I just checked my confirmation email, and I was done just before 10:10 CDT (9:10 mountain).
Ended up almost being late for my flight to start my business trip. :-O The knife is scheduled to arrive Monday, the same day I get home. :-D
Condolences to those who weren't able to get one.

I drove down and got one. I had the option to get 2 and didn't realize they were selling out so fast. It was calm in the SFO. I may have to buy 2 next time for one you guys.

Here are a few pics to hold you over : https://www.dropbox.com/sh/mndvyhf8pfx5cxd/zHwbF9ID29

My first Native and reminds me of the Sage. A very Nice Knife and especially for Boulder CO where I am mostly (only county in CO where you are not suppose to have a knife on person or within reach due to the male college students messing that one up).

Thanks

PS. There is one on ebay for $160 at the moment that has #75 on it. 8 days left on that bidding (not mine).

(2) but it about drove me nuts! Started at 0800 got the order in about 0900.
(What a relief) Really want to try out this new to me steel.
I did a forum knife for another co. I donated a couple hundred hours getting it done.
Maintaining a list of members is the only way to make sure
only members get them. But its a huge pain. Sounds easy, but its not!
Hours and hours involved. Folks backing out, missing out, and complaining about the process etc.
While this last one wasn't perfect, it was fair. 1st come 1st serve. Limit 2 per person.
The server melt down was the only real issue. And am sure Spyderco will find a way around it next time.
Or maybe have a mail in advance (pay in advance) option for actual members. Then open up the balance of knives for sale through the website.
But again, more time consuming.

Thank you Landon. I have wild idea that I need fixed blade when I work around house. Starting with mule sounds like a good option.

Just one for me. And it will be a user. My first Native too. I'm very interested in comparing it to my Sage 1 & 2.

As it stands now, voting forum members have accounted for 193.

I'm surprised the poll has stayed so close, when I looked yesterday I think it was about the same ratio with a lot less votes.

Based on your current poll results I would venture a guess of 55% forum members vs. 45% guests / visitors.

Only got one because I had a feeling these would go quick, and I didn't want someone else who wanted one to miss out. Almost got a mule too, but changed my mind on that. This will be my first Native and I'm already craving the CF one.

Thanks for your comments and your work on another forum knife MCM, sounds like you have been there.

Sadly, No good deed ever goes unpunished  Why people would agree to buy something then change their mind is beyond me. Especially something special like a forum knife or pre-orders where the seller is having to keep track of everything and not making any or much extra money. Sure, occasionally a job is lost or sickness hits, but the vast majority do not fit in those categories. It's very discouraging to hear all the complaining that accompanies things like form knives or sprint runs. Then there is the flat impatience. :(
