I find that a lot of the fun in seeking sharpening knowledge is in the seeking and in the knowledge that we'll keep on learning our whole lives. Nice edges Charlie!

I remember when you were having trouble with ZDP-189. I remember it because your story was a duplicate of my own. Except I was about 6 months ahead of you. Not only your issue with ZDP at the time but my skills have been sharpened (play on words, get it? :) ) with the help of many on this forum. It's amazing how you can find so much satisfaction is something like sharpening a knife.

Congratulations on your accomplishment. I'll add my thanks to the people here who helped me also.

Agreed Chuck :) It's a never ending but enjoyable journey :) Each increment of improvement is a reward :D

The sharpest vg-10 now is the Cento with it's delightful 2 mm HG :D The potential sharpness of zdp and m4 seems to get into the crazy realm

Enjoyment and satisfaction are the key rewards :)

It's not so much my accomplishment, rather a success of the entire group that advised and informed :) I never dreamed I would be able to get edges this sharp  With the help of each other we all can achieve the same :)

Don't forget the enjoyment when we cut and there's little resistance. :D

Agreed. I always get a kick when people say a knife is too sharp.

Nice work. :)

It looks like you have all your bases covered. I think all you need is a Native 5 for the comfort zone. :p

I love cutting something and it's like there is almost nothing there. When someone watches me cut or I let them use my knife to cut I think I like it better when they don't say anything. It's the look on their face and then when they pause for a second to look at the edge. Their silence says it all IMO. :D I never got to make that face. A few years ago I didn't know what a really sharp edge was. I thought my knives were sharp but never used a REALLY sharp edge experiencing the huge jump in performance. My experience has been noticing slow improvement in the sharpness of the edges on my knives. I feel cheated. :( :) I did get the jump in sharpness a few times on new Spyderco knives but that was after I knew what to expect. It's not the same.

I hear and appreciate you folks :) Knowing and appreciating very sharp edges came to me through Spyderco and the blade materials they use :D Taking control of and creating my own edges came through the gracious and generous nature of this forum :)
