Rank the Para Sprint Runs
Rank the Para Sprint Runs
I only have the M390 and the 204P. I was curious about where these rank with the other sprint models. By rank i mean something like if all were the same $ and then just take into account steel first and handle material/color second.....
From all the reading I've done it seems that the general consensus is something like:
1.CF s90v
2.Grey 20cp
3.Green 204p
4.Blue M390
5.Orange XHP
am I totally off?

1 - 20CP/S90V
2 - M390/204P
3 - XHP
4 - S35VN
Although technically the M390 and 204P aren't sprints, and I dot believe the XHP was either.

My best guess would be this:
1. CF S90V
2. Grey 20CP
3. Blue M390
4. Orange XHP
5. Green 204P
6. Brown S35V
7. Black S30V
*ranking excludes camo handles and coated blades*
I base this on the amount (or lack of) that show up on the secondary market.
I think my ranking is based more on an average of steel and handle love.

For me it would be
CF S90V
Grey 20CP
Blue M390
Green 204P
Brown S35V
Orange XHP
Any S30V
Of course we don't know what the future will bring, I think the Fluted CF will come in high if the steel is right. If it would be a 110V it would be on top :)

First CF S90V, best handles and steel (about the same as 20CP). Second it could be an orange 20CP as I don't like the grey G-10 that much. Third I think 204P though I still haven't seen that green in person. Fourth the M390 even if that blue color gives me mixed feelings. Finally, it would be a tie between my XHP with the grey scales of the 204P and brown S35VN...

M390 and 204P are equivalent and the green looks in pictures just a little darker than that on Lil Temperance, so I guess I'll like the green one better!michaelm466 wrote:I agree with your order, although I'm on the fence whether I blue is 3rd or green is, I actually like the blue slightly better, but already have some blue in my collection and nothing like the new dark green and since I just got it it has the higher novelty value so for now its ahead of blue.

I'm a huge fan of the Grey 20CP model (although one of mine isn't grey anymore - it is burgundy micarta). The Blue M390 is still the smoothest and most flawless Para I've ever purchased - it is stunning. Here is my ranking...
1. Grey 20CP
2. CF S90V
3. Blue M390
4. Green 204P
5. Orange XHP
6. Foliage Green D2 Para1 (let's not forget the very first Para sprint!)
7. Brown S35V

I wish I had more to rank - right now - my favorite two PMs are both sprint runs - the green PM1 and the brown PM2 - with the green PM1 being my smoothest knife in a total collection of 6 PMs [2 sprint, 3 production and 1 cusadi custom] - would love the CF but if they are now going for $800+ it might be a while for that one.
