Hello all. I've been a member here for a while. I have a quick question to ask all those Snap-It model owners.
I just received a NIB red Snap-it with the G-2 blade. I can tell it's new.
I wanted to know if the shackle on the Snap-it is normally built to have some degree of 'play' back and forth (really side-to-side). Mine seems to have a little bit of movement when I grab the shackle and wiggle it. As far as I can tell, the only thing holding the shackle onto the FRN handle is the pivot itself.
Is this a normal feature of the early Snap-it model?
Thanks.

If you mean there's slight play in the metal "tongue" of the shackle, then all of mine have it. If you mean play between the plastic "shackle body" and the handle, none of mine have that. True that it's only attached by the pivot, but if you look closely, the shackle body sits in a slight recess in the handle which "should" keep it from moving.

Thanks for the replies. I really don't think the one I have is defective.
I am in fact referring to the FRN shackle body where it meets the FRN handle. It seems that wiggling the shackle body back and forth (away and toward) the handle scale gets some slight wiggle--I can even see the whole shackle body down at the pivot VERY SLIGHTLY shifting. I'm tempted to try and squeeze a mill-drop of super glue into the 'seam' between the shackle body and the FRN handle, but I wonder if that might be a disproportionate response to a problem that really doesn't exist.
