A place to list and reference all Spyderco counterfeits, clones, and replicas that are found. Anything that isn't a legitimate Spyderco fits in this area.

Fake it is, "Spyderco Poliwog Replica" translates to crummy copy or counterfeit.

We would rather be the knife in your pocket, because is "works" better, than the knife in your showcase, because it "looks" better.

I'm thinking this is a fake salsa, because the box doesn't look right. Somebody payed $92 for it though, so it's either a steal or a rip-off.

The knife is legit but the box is indeed not the correct one, I have 2 CC numbered (first run) and they can in grey boxes

The guy listing the OEM poliwog actually listed them twice. The first time he had it listed as an authentic spyderco, I spent 24.00 to prove to myself that it was a fake. The day after I purchased mine, he changed his listing to say that it was a 'reproduction'... Ok, my point being proven, I sent him an email asking if mine was a clone as well, and if it was wanted my money immediately refunded. To his credit, he apologized, refunded all of my money, and told me to keep the knife as a token of goodwill. (and hoping I wouldn't report him to ebay) He did change his listing to reflect that it was indeed not a real poliwog, so I didn't cause any issues with ebay. So now I need to find a real poliwog to go with my fake one. LOL...
