Endura 4 ZDP-189 FFG What are the odds?
I just ordered an Endura 4 ZDP-189 off Amazon. The seller was Reds Gear however I've checked descriptions on most sites and don't see any that state for sure if they are Full Flat Ground or not. I know they come either Saber or FFG. What are the odds of this folder being FFG?

If they have stopped making the SG one, then it's probably safe to say that the chances of getting an FFG is more than 50/50.ViperGTS wrote:50/50

I am almost certain that they stopped making the saber ZDP Endura over 1.5 years ago. I think they told me at the Spyderco booth BLADE 2011 that they were going to phase it out. I purchased one in October 2011 at a gun show. I think it is likely it is FFG. If it is saber, send me a PM.

Product Description
The knife industry is constantly pushing the envelope searching for, and testing, higher performance blade steels. ZDP189 is rapidly asserting itself as an up-and-coming steel. It's a powdered metal made by Hitachi that has phenomenal chemistry with 3% carbon. The hardness is around 64Rc and edge retention is exceptional. This solid ZDP-189 steel blade is the hottest, hardest and highest performing steel in the knife industry today. The Endura4 features a full flat ground ZDP-189 steel blade, a Green FRN Bi-Drectional Textured Handle, four-way clip option, screw-together construction, skeletonized steel internal liners, phosphor bronze washers, David Boye Dent, spine jimping, and an enlarged opening hole.
I would say the odds are 100% that it is a FFG. That's what the description says in the add. If it's a Saber grind and you don't want it return it at their expense.

Focus is just distraction from distraction, so I take my moderation in moderation.
While I agree you should be correct I see that several sellers on the 'bay are still showing Gen1 FRN Enduras in the pictures when they are clearly selling the Endura 4. The pics, descriptions, what is available do not always match. Especially when something has been made for awhile and they did not change the model number.setldown wrote:
