Ok but the Delica's blade comes in at 73mm vs. the Para's 81....so there's not much shrinking down being made here is there? Even if you compare a Delica to a Para 2 it's still only 1/2 inch or so difference. If you wanna shrink it down and make a mini version, take it down to Pingo/Dfly size or don't bother.

+1.....

Actually the PM2 is over an inch longer than the delica (mostly handle) The cool factor wouldn't just be about the size, compared to the PM the delica is rough. It would be great to get that quality feel that the PM has in the smaller package. Going down to the size of a dfly for instance would make the knife a little too small for harder tasks aswell. I really think its a no brainer when you look at the success of the mini grip.

I was referring to blade length, but still the problem is with redundancy. It would have to be so different that it become a different knife completely or it'll never happen.
I believe Mini paramilitary is going to be a completely different kind in its class/size.
I want to see a smaller folder of paramilitary still with its spirit...by that I mean that stout feel, that 4mm thick flat ground blade, and that handle shape that distinguishes itself from other folders.

I would love a chaparral/ techno sized knife (i.e. just a bit smaller than a delica) with a compression lock. It wouldn't have to be along the PM lines.
But I've been mostly carrying my Techno and Chaparral lately. I personaly thinks its a great size (I've got large hand btw)
So a bit beefier chaparral with a compression lock would fit the bill for me!

now ya lost me lol, why would it have to be so different? Spyderco has a ton of knives that are similar in size. Look at the native and caly 3, same size, totally different knife.
Imagine that : A new generation Para3 with a shorter handle(a better blade/handle ratio) in 3D ( like lil'temp ) and different screws.Let's talk about the blade: a high hollow grind( a la Bradley ) with a stronger tip.
From what I'm getting here it sounds like everyone wants a G-10 Delica with a new lock mechanism. Personally I like the size of the current Para2. In public it may seem like a large knife but that may also be due to the colors of the Para2. Black and Digicam (in the stock models) are not the most friendly colors. My mini BM Barrage still freaks people out and I'm fairly certain that's because of the black handle. So I would be completely down if we can get it in the current Delica colors.

Jip, and a few months down the line there will be a thread requesting a new Delica with a choil, G10 and a few posts later someone mentions the Compression Lock :p
IMO, the Para is supposed to be a smaller Military, that it is. The Delica is supposed to be a smaller Endura. Two different models that dont need any change, they do what they are supposed to.

A general comment - It's funny sometimes when I see threads and comments about
a certain knife and wanting it bigger or smaller with this change or that change. Many
times there are great ideas tossed about that perhaps Sal and Eric might pick up on
and think about them.
However, many times that particular knife already exists, it is just called something
else. There are knives larger than the Para 2 for those of us that like the bigger blades
and smaller ones for others and for use at the office. I carry a Para 2 at the office myself
but also have a delica and a ladybug.
Trust me, anything Paramilitary is right up my alley and I would be interested in a
mini Para 2 or even a Military XL .
