Dreaming of Sprint models, what's your dream made of?

#1

Post by Gary W Graley »

Mine is as follows; and I am unanimous in this, (spoken in true fashion of Mrs. Betty Slocombe from 'Are you Being Served?' ) :)

Resilience with the following changes;

Blade steel of CPM3v

Titanium Liners

Clip of black coated/anodized scratch resistant Titanium

PLEASE keep the blade ground the very same way, my GOODNESS does this regular Resilience cut so very well !!!

I KNOW this will up the price on these, but I'm such a CPM3v sucker I'm willing to go that and I would think there might be others that might also pick one or two up as well?

So you see, the actual knife doesn't need any design alterations at all, it is just so great as it stands, but the materials could use a little bump up in the higher end side of things.

Of course there will be the request for the next size down as well, the Tenacious, but I figure one request...from me...is enough...for now ;)

Please feel free to post your Dream Sprint models as well AND if you concurr with my Dream, please Please say so here so the powers that be will also listen in to our combined voices.

I like the idea of a Pingo Salt, but since it's made in Italy, it seems unlikely. But there's other rustproof knife steels... make it serrated, too!

Mine: A C44 Dyad with burgundy micarta scales, ZDP-189 PE blade and H1 SE blade.
Newest :spyder: in hand: Halloween Handle Hap40 Endura and Delica.

A green Para2 sounds interesting to me, and I would like to have a Para2 with red scales.

The Manix 2 XL S90V that I've read about sounds interesting. The previous Manix 2 M4 model sounds interesting too.

The other thing I would be really interested in might be one of the older Military sprints that have already been produced.

Hossom trio in red and black micarta would be a grail for me although not a cost wise grail but its hard to come by I even asked j hossom himself (or a buddy did) but no banana :( .

Edit: due to the price point a tenacious in different colours and a higher grade steel would be another , factoring in a price rise it still would be a winner IMO .

As long as G10 is smooth, I am with you.

My personal dreams:
1. Clipless Kopa. Jigged Bone like on micro-dyad or desert ironwood burl scales
2. Native5 smooth G10: dark green, orange, dark blue, brown canvas micarta. FFG to .010" behind the edge XHP, B75P, S90V, 204P. Plus bolstered variant with Damascus like Caly3 and Aged Honey Amber Stag Bone scales.
3. Bolstered Damascus Caly3 smooth bone or burl desert ironwood scales.
4. Goddard PE, micarta, original grind, full size & Jr. VG10 will be fine.
"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf"

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

A Captain with a comp lock, dark green G10 a la the para sprint, with SKD11 steel would be my most listed after but still feasible sprint. SKD11 is supposed to be a Japanese D2 and I would love to see it tried in a skydive :D . My most wanted sprint that disregards Japanese makers using only Japanese steel would be a Khukuri with CPM3V, titanium bolsters and contoured gray G10 handles *drool*

1. Chaparral 1 with bolster and wood (think Sage 4 but with shorter bolster)
2. Yojimbo II in CPM-M4 and orange G10

I really like the idea of a Cento 3 or 4 with CF and wire clip as well...
