Love for a new version of the Salsa...kinda missed the boat on this model before...looks like my kinda knife..
My Spydies: Sharpmaker • Tasman Salt • Saver Salt • Ladybug Hawkbill Salt • Salt 1 • Blue/Gray Meerkat • Burgundy Meerkat • Manix2 Ltwt Translucent Blue • Manix2 Ltwt Blacked Out • Manix2 Backlock • Ladybug 1 Red • Blue UKPK • Tusk • Blue Lava • Dog Tag • Bug • Honeybee • Grasshopper • Stepped Ti Chaparral • McBee • AEB-L Urban
The old Ti Salsa, great little Spyder
I wish I would have kept my old Titanium Salsa
It was the only one that had ATS-34 blade steel. I actually liked the locking systen in it as well.
I hear it's quite coveted in the collector arena now a days. I haven't seen one in quite some time. I also loved the look of the Cranberry Salsa as well.
My deceased best friend had the entire set before he died and a it was a beautiful set to look at on display. I think one with a G-10 handle and XHP blade would be just outright cool and probably not a bad beginner's EDC.

Long Live the SPYDEREDGE Spyderco Hawkbills RULE!!
Yes, the titanium Salsa has a somewhat different lock than the standard aluminum Salsa, although they are both compression locks. And yes, the Cobra Hood does come off, however it leaves a sharp, uncomfortable notch on the spine of the blade if you remove it.krislacy wrote:I was looking at the salsa again and it looks like to me they have different locks. Is this true? Also does the cobra hood come off? I think I would like the cobra hood.

Sounds very good to me. Would full liners be necessary? How about burgundy or dark green? S30V?sal wrote:So, should we consider this;
we would make it without the cobra hood.
G-10 would be ok, color?
Plain edge only.
Compression lock.

So many knives, so few pockets... :)

All of that is OK, if you can make it shaped more like the Spyderco "S", the blade of the Salsa was a bit too 'chubby' or broad, but for this knife, the "S" was more streamlined.sal wrote:So, should we consider this;

I would like a cobra hood but it won't keep me from buying it. I am so excited about this knife for some reason. Sal should I just send you a check now? :-)sal wrote:So, should we consider this;

green g10 or aluminum CTS-XHP blade, cobrahood or no cobrahood, doesn't matter to me.sal wrote:So, should we consider this;

Hope this model comes to life soon!
