Seems like 2 weeks or so is average. I don't think they give a notice when they ship it back; it just shows up. If it was the carraca that broke on yours, then there shouldn't be any repair cost to you, as that was a manufacturer defect and covered under warranty. If you did something to the knife that caused the damage, then they would contact you about additional costs for repair.

So uh... I had my Navaja for three days and the ratchet mechanism broke. To those that have sent the knife back: Has it held up or has it broken again? I live in Finland and it probably isn't worth the hassle to send it for repairs.

I would suggest you email customer service and explain your situation to Charlynn.

I already filled a support request form on the site. It'll probably go to the right person.

Well the knife now opens as smooth as butter without the ratchet ;) But I really want that ratchet sound, it's what makes this one unique.

I got a message back and I'll be getting a new spring. Thanks guys. Hopefully it'll last longer.

It will. That happened to my first one, Amazon replaced it (the new one obviously had a fresh mechanism) and it works better. There's variations in the metallurgy and heat treat when the spring gets that small.

A bit of an update: I got the new spring and it has held up for a couple of weeks already.
