Ulize- Pics!!!
I just received my Ulize, and I'm extemely pleased with it! If you have a Police 3, then this one will feel very familiar as the build is very, very similar. This is touted as the German Police knife.
The knife features thin black G-10 over skeletonized SS liners. The knife has a lockback with Boye detent, and a slightly negative blade angle to the handle. The somewhat negative angle creates a shorter arc to open the knife, so it's quick to deploy.
The VG-10 blade has a recurve hollow grind. There are traction grooves on the thumb ramp, but the rest of the knife is traction bump/groove free.
Being a Spyderco enthusiast, I do miss the lack of a forward choil, but the incorporated forward guard does provide a great, confidence inspiring grip! It feels very lively in the hand, and the thinness and relatively lightweight package should make it a dream to carry.
Oh, did I mention it's huge?? Only in length, it's very thin.

Yum :) .
One stupid question though. Ulize's tang is fairly short compared to other lockback designs. My observation tells me the tangs on lockbacks are used to stop the edge hitting scale inside when squeezing a closed knife. Would the edge of Ulize hit the inside of the scale when squeezing?
