There's a New Stranger in Town...

Howdy Campers!

I’m new to the Spyderco Forums so I thought I’d take the time to introduce myself. I’m a knife nut with a modest collection—most of my pieces are Spydies! I’ve gone through that awkward phase of buying up all the latest/greatest ‘high value’ knives I could find and tend to be a little more selective in my purchasing habits nowadays. I’ve pruned my folder collection down significantly but my Spydies are here to stay. Here’s what I have to date:

Centofante 3
Delica 4
Delica 4 FFG
DiAlex Junior
Dragonfly 2
Endura 4 SE
Grasshopper
Native 1
Para-Military 2 DLC
Persistence
R Nishijin
Rock Lobster
Sage 1
Terzuola SLIPIT

My newest is the R C67GFP Sprint. Beautiful folder! I consider the R to be like a bigger, classier Delica (one of my all-time fav EDC knives, by the way.) Although the R has been out for a while, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of love for it. With so many great new Spydies out there, I feel the R has been seriously under-rated/overlooked. The scales are gorgeous: very aesthetically pleasing, my pockets are grateful for the super-smooth texture, and my hands are satisfied with the great ergos and jimped choil/thumb-ramp. The build quality really makes me want a Caly 3 CF in ZDP-189...

Any other new-found love for the Spyderco R Nishijin out there? From what I've read, most are destined to be collection pieces rather than users. Not mine! ;)

Anyway, I look forward to being a part of the community. Thanks for reading! :)

Welcome to the forum. I agree that the R sprint is beautiful. I don't know if I'll be able to bring myself to use it.

Hello and welcome to the forum. That is a beautiful knife and I don't know how anyone could NOT use it. I'd be happier to display it by pulling it out of my pocket than having it in a display case or dresser drawer. Of course there's nothing saying it can't make it out of the case and into a pocket. :D

Welcome over! I just joined the other planet. Looks like a foreign exchange program.

Welcome to the Spyderco Forums. There's a nice bunch of Spydies you have there for a starter, congratulations and enjoy them.

Welcome! Looks like a good start. I had an R sprint and was going to EDC it but sadly it just wasn't as comfortable as my other choices.

Welcome to the forum!

I have a nishijin "R" and i like it, it just doesn't see as much pocket time because I have so many other wonderful Spydies as well, they all fight each other for pocket time :) .
