Actually I was thinking if I go for another Manix it may well be the XL. I couldn't use it for daily carry here in Colorado  , but it seems like it'd be a pretty decent outdoor/camping/hiking/hunting knife; better than most folders anyway. It's on the long-term list... :spyder:

Hey, fliktrik, welcome to the Forum. It appears that you've caught the Spydie "addiction" in a bad way. I'm sure it doesn't help that you're only 30 miles away from Golden. ;) Congrats on your new blades!

jackthedog wrote:The Para 2 definitely lends itself to front pocket carry much more easily than the Manix. I hope these photos help. Also, take a look at the Sage 2, it's one of my favorite EDCs.
I scaled your photos to life-sized using my lightweight Manix to check the scale. Comparing the folded Para2 to both the Manix and Endura, I see that in the pocket it would be smaller than either... not nearly as wide as the folded Manix (which has both a wider handle and wider blade).

Yeah. Spyderco is to knives as Lays are to potato chips. One just isn't enough.

Welcome to the forum, where we make it seem "normal" to have this obsession with knives! :)

For a couple of decades, I just had a couple of Spydies and a Sharpmaker, and didn't know I needed more, until I wandered in here! Now I think the count is rapidly approaching 100, plus just about every sharpening product they make. And I think The Deacon has over 500 in his collection, something we can all aspire to :D .

Today is the first day in a looong time I didn't carry my CF Caly 3 in my waistband - because I'm carrying my brand-new CF Caly 3.5 :) - and PPT in my back pocket, G10 Dragonfly in watch pocket, and two Ladybugs in my left pocket.

If you like leaf blades, ya gotta check out the Super Leaf!. It is a bit big, very stout, yet surprisingly light for its size and cuts very well.

I envy you (I think) living so close to the Spyderco Factory Outlet, if I lived that close I think I'd be there every week, or maybe just get a job there :) . I have yet to make the pilgrimage there, though I came close to trying to make the trip one year when they had one of their "Clearance Sales".
Which Knife, A or B? get Both! (and C, D and E) :)

I just have to go to that Spyderco outlet store in Colorado soon. I would probably roam around for hours there. :D
Here in CA, I carry my Delica with me everyday, but dont know if its legally okay to carry an Endura.

I can relate. I picked up my first Spyderco knife earlier this year, a Para 2, it's fantastic, and now I have twelve Spyderco knives. Actually I don't 'have' them all. Some are on the way. My latest acquisition is the ambitious, persistence and tenacious all in blue.

I hadnt bought a Spyderco in a while, I sold most of them to buy some equipment for my shop. Then I lost my EDC knife and gifted my smaller knife to my dad, so I bought a Para2 and a hawkbill lady bug salt. I am waiting now, for a Brown para2 and a CF Balance. I need to stop this madness!

Welcome to the forums, and given what you have I must recommend you consider a serrated Tasman Salt (or Spyderhawk Salt if you can find one - they're a little bigger but I wish I had bought a few more when I was making more money). It's a totally different style of knife with a wicked edge that will make one thing into two with brutal efficiency. Also holds an edge for a loooong time due to the serrations, and is completely rustproof.

Also, yes, you're doomed. Good luck with that.

Welcome fliktrik.

Sorry, no warnings. If we did that we would have to face our own addiction problems. No, no, no I should have said, "collections."

That's right. And I sure don't want anyone here talking me out of getting a new knife. This is the only place I can get some sympathy. :) Lord knows I have enough people coming up with reasons NOT to buy a knife. The reasons don't make any sense either. Kids haven't eaten in 3 days, no electricity in the house, etc. See what I mean? Rediculous arguments. :D

Actually I have the only good reason not to buy another Spyderco. I own or have owned every Spyderco knife I ever wanted. Now I'm waiting on new models. The one I have my sights on now is the Chaparral titanium. I don't know if I'll get it right away but it is next.

Agree... it looks very interesting.

Yes, it's nice, but hazardous to my wallet. That makes two local stores I have to be careful to not visit too often... the other is Wildwood Guitars, a very well known guitar dealer, even closer than the Spyderco outlet.

Thanks! Yes... the serrated Tasman Salt is on my longer term wish list. I only have one fully serrated knife at present; the UKPK that I picked up on clearance at the outlet store. In the past I haven't cared much for serrated knives, but the UKPK really impressed me; Spyderco really seems to know how to do serration right. And serrations seem they'd be a good match for a hawkbill...
