One week with the PM2

#1

I must say, I'm more pleased than i thought I would be, with several posts of the pivot issue and the unlocking issue. I think my Para Military 2 is exactly what Sal and Eric intended when they designed it. The blade drops when unlocked(smooth) and is solid when locked(no movement). Unlocking was never difficult and is easier after the second day. I can unlock it of course by the "pinch" method (two fingers), but I prefer using my thumb, this keeps more fingers on the handle(no dropping). Of course we must keep the index finger high enough to "catch" the choil and not the edge. No problem!
I can see the insides of this knife, it is well finished, you can see the pride of craftsmanship in it.
Well done!

I have had mine now about 6 weeks and love it. Jeff at CS has a great price BTW. I was not sure how I would like the compression lock and was really torn between either the Military or the PM2. I opted for the PM2 - mainly because I thought the size would be more convenient. Of course, I would still like a Military - but I'll get one later - maybe wait till the new one comes out.

My PM2 has been fantastic. I like it better now that I have had it for a few weeks. It has solid lock up, yet is super smooth and ultra-sharp. I can open it a number of ways in a flash. I thought about taking it apart and stone washing it but decided not to (knowing me it would never be the same once I got it back together - although I have dissasembled my Delica with no problems. Still, the thought of taking apart a near perfect knife to stonewash bothers me just a bit). I have owned a bunch of knives from other companies, but I have to say, Spyderco just impresses me more than most.

Congrats on the PM2, you have shown some amazing will power to hold off this long, I'm glad you weren't disappointed after the wait.

The PM2 is easily my favourite knife to date, I haven't felt the need to buy another knife(in this size) since it's release(except another PM2 with fancy steel :D ).

Hey gull wing,

Nice work. I have one in my pocket as I type this. It is a great knife. As much as I never thought I would say this...."it is better than the original". I love it. I cannot think of anything I would want to improve. The price is amazing as well. Perfect knife.

I've had to hold myself back, from taking mine apart as well.

Now there is a problem, Competition with the Gayle Bradley. These are my "large" knives.

Glad you are enjoying it. I usually edc a Manix2 and then rotate a different knife in another pocket. Well my Para2 came up in the rotation last week and hasn't left yet. Today I actually left the Manix2 to home and carried the Para2 as my primary.
Congrats on the new knife.
