I'm not currently a tactical pen user, but I'd definitely consider a Spyderco version.

I have and love the BM pen, bring on a Spyderco version. Noting has nocked mine out of its LF pocket throne yet.

It would depend on the pen. It would have to offer something my S&W M&P doesn't, like a hard rubber tip for the "non-pen" end, without omitting any of the things I like about the S&W.

The only one that has tempted me to pull the trigger are the ones from Hinderer. Mainly as writing jewelry rather than shanking tools. ;)

I would loooove one, its nice to know you can defend yourself by inflicting massive pain and incapacitating the opposition, but not go to court for charges you would get for using a screwdriver/knife/gun or something (in this country)......I miss my s&w pen already (was stolen)

I'd really like to see Spyderco do one...BUT, only if it looked less tactical and more pen. Subtly is something that I don't think any tactical pen designer has ever heard of.

I would rather go to court with a screwdriver as chances are the logic would make sense why you used it as an improvised weapon. That said, carrying one generally makes you look crazy :) .

Agreed, when I look at Spyderco compared to Benchmade, Surefire, etc, its my opinion that Spyderco makes fine tools instead of pieces of tactical equipment. Instead of being very similar in design and mostly blacked out, they're often ridiculous-looking instruments that drop perfectly into the hand and serve to cut like no other. If I were to relate it to a brick and mortar (or I-beam and sheet metal more likely) store, I'd say that I could walk into a hardware store and expect to find a Spyderco next to Vise-Grips, Channel-Locks and Crescent wrenches. Things that all look very strange compared to each other but serve their purpose well. Not sure I'd buy a tactical pen unless it was made by Spyderco, in which case I'd buy for the name rather than purpose.

What about a tactical hole punch?

Maybe we should dispatch with the "tactical" label and just refer to them as a high end custom writing instrument. Something similar to the WH damascus and exotic wood pens come to mind when I imaging buying a different EDC pen. I purchased my BM (in red) because it stood out and had a nice weight. Secondly I really enjoy the smooth (non-writing) tip for use as a stylus, despite the fact I could shank my work tablet whenever I felt the urge!

I still fail to see how a baliyo isn't a nice striking implement and excellently-functioning pen.

Well, its made of so so plastic and is really not very ergonomic.

Speaking of subtle tatical pens...check out the Foursevens titanium pen they have...its expensive, but its subtle and you can get different "heads" for it. But I agree, a Spyderco one would be cool. I personally want one of the BM pens with the glass breaker.
