How about it? Best knife & light combination

#1

Post by AllenETreat »

What is the MOST efficient knife/light combination, in your opinion?

I likee the SE Cricket for it's compact size

and vicious cutting power, along with the

Photon II microlight in turquoise ( this color is brighter than green and not as dull as the old military standard red diffusion.)

I noticed Surefire has a sale on one of it's G-2 Nitrolon flashlights

meebee I'll pick one up soon ( though it's un-likely I'll carry it much, as the Photon

is compact and much lighter on the keychain.)

What say the augurers?

i think maybe it should be that special D2 run knife and a surefire. i really want one of thos 8AX commander rechargeables but don't have the fundage for it right now. they're a might bit expensive but i figure worth it in te long run.

allen, get yourself a g2. i have a 6P which has the same lamp assembly as the G2 and i love it. if you do order batteries get them from Surefire.com. that's the cheapest place for batteries i have seen.

If it is not for combat use I would have to say Military-Inova X5T or Native-ARC AAA.

For a show of superior force nothing beats the brute size of a Vox Persian and the brilliance of a Surefire M6 Millenium Magnum!

My regular carry is PE Delica with ARC AAA.
Very size efficient combination and always with me when I need them.

Photon 2 with a Sak Classic on every keyring <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

ARC AAA's are ace. I reckon they would go perfect with a Titanium Delica (the latter, alas aludes me).

I just got an ARC AAA from http://www.gearoutsidethebox.com

Great service too! Recommended.

I'm with Philuk44.
The best combination is the one that you have on you. In my case that is a CF Delica and an Arc AAA or Streamlight Keymate.

The Surefire M6 is a killer light, but it is a might big to be carrying around 24/7.

I agree with ya, Allen. <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> Except that I carry my SS Cricket PE with a white ARC AAA.

With my Military CE (<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>), it would have to be a Surefire E2e-HA. Haven't been able to pick one up yet, though, traded the one that I had off for a Ti-Lum/Spydercard package. <img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Just with what I have I would say Princeton tec Microlight and Kiwi. Great little buddies and always on me.
If I had my pick probably an Inova or Surfire with a Millie

Currently on my keyring: Jester & White Led Photon II.

But, my Sebenza also matches nice with the Arc AAA LE.

Cool: yup,got a MiniChamp and white P2. Also tossed on a Utilikey for the phillips screwdriver.

Beyond the keychain,I'd have to say any med sized Spydie paired w/an LED light. Models like the Standard and Delica are small enough for easy carry, but can still handle serious cutting. And you can't beat the batt life, permanent bulbs, and true color(white) of LED's.

BTW,interesting read for those of you into the colored lights:
http://thelightsite.cruxial.com/qa.htm

I used to carry a turquoise P2,but got tired of not seeing colors. Now all my LED's are white w/the exception of a red P3. It has a dim enough low setting to really keep night vision, plus the blinking makes it a good marker or emergency light.

I don't know about the "most efficient" but I sure get a lot of mileage out of my white Arc AAA and PE Military and if they weren't so durn expensive I'd probably pick-up one of those Arc LS's.

I agree with your choices exactly Allen. For small size (less is more!) and packing a punch at the same time, the Cricket and Photon II turquoise are hard to beat.

Of course, I also carry a Surefire in my ruck at all times too. As well as an extra knife or two. Hmmmm, come to think of it, so much for less is more. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

navigator (or native,if situation permits it..here the laws are tight on knife carrying) and photon III white ,tied together with a fake key with a folding short blade, and a 50/50 spydercard in wallet.

For most efficient, the Native and a Surefire E2 Executive. So far, Surefire has the best flashlights that I've found.

Whenever I'm going out at night, though, I usually carry me C3 Surefire; it's like havin a spotlight in your pocket, and the pocket clip keeps it in place.
