Post by jenmar »

Hi I just ordered a all black manic 2 from Amazon...when I checked the weight of the knife on sypdercos home page it lists it at 4.2...but the black handle silver blade is listed at 5.0 oz only difference I see is the color. Does anyone know if it is lighter and why thanks

That's correct, the standard Manix g-10 had full liners, the black had skeletonized liners. I noticed this a few days ago.

I just checked my DLC Manix 2. No skeletonised liners. Date code I believe was Feb this year also ordered from Amazon.

Date code? How/what/where is that?
Can anyone else chip in on this? I thought all Manix 2 -standard G-10's were full liners, black bladed (DLC) G-10's were skeletonized liners, light-weight no liners & is made of fiberglass no liners...
Anyone have one, two or all three and a scale handy?

We would rather be the knife in your pocket, because is "works" better, than the knife in your showcase, because it "looks" better.

Date code on mine is BL. No skeletonised liners on mine.

Maybe mine is a fluke? Either way, I did not know they were supposed to have it. Let us know how yours came.

I just checked my DLC Manix2 and it has full (non-skeletonized) liners.

Hmm that's kind of weird. What's the date code on your box?

Well that makes it from May of this year. Sounds like the skeletonized liners were used for a short time. Maybe Spyderco ran out out of the solid liners and subbed in the skeletonized liners.
