Good attention to detail. That does appear to be the case.Donut wrote:duvaldrummer, did the grind on the top Para in your picture go all the way to the butt of the blade? (Side closest to the handle when opened.)

Yea I thought the quality of the grind on the back bevel's on the Orange PM2's left a bit do be desired compared to what I've seen on the standard PM2 and the Smurf that I have. Oh well, I greedily sold it for a tidy profit...

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.

It is. You're looking at the post directly above my question, but the one two posts up posted by dual is a Para. Unless they made something else in orange with tip up/down and CTS-XHP. :)Henry - get both wrote:Donut,

Interesting. I received both of mine and the grind goes all the way back just like every other Para2 that I own. I've seen many pictures of the orange Para2s with the grind not being completely full. This is the first Para2 I've ever seen like this. It's just odd that it's only showing up on the latest orange Para2 production and not on any of the previous ones. Perhaps one of many in production at Golden isn't as precise as the others. I know we may be picky here and it doesn't affect the functionality of the knife but when we're accustomed what to expect from Golden and see something change, it's only natural to wonder why.Donut wrote:All (3) of mine came with not a full grind. Not that big of a deal, but almost all the pictures I see in this thread look like the grind on mine.

It is pretty easy to touch up when you sharpen the knife so to me not a big deal.Spyharpy wrote:Interesting. With the standard stones on my WEPS, I can't reach all the way back to the back of the bevel, so this will be OK with me. Almost all my knives have the last 2mm of the bevel in "original mint" condition because the stones won't reach there. It's just a peculiarity of the WEPS stone mounting system...Fat Goat Forge wrote:It is pretty easy to touch up when you sharpen the knife so to me not a big deal.
Oh, and for the record, my orange Para2 has a bevel that doesn't extend all the way to the end of the grind...

Both my Orange AND Brown PM2 sprints have imcomplete bevels at the back of the blade. Maybe the company changed the sharpening method/spec/tooling/personnel..???Spyharpy wrote:Interesting. No problem, sorry to sound rude.Henry - get both wrote:My mistake! I was looking at the wrong photo.

I have seen pictures of the brown para that look like they had the issue as well.Spyharpy wrote:It's just odd that it's only showing up on

That's pretty much what I was thinking. I've always read that the edge was put on by hand, there's no way someone could make the same mistake, down to the millimeter, on 100 knives.Prospero wrote:Both my Orange AND Brown PM2 sprints have imcomplete bevels at the back of the blade. Just for closure, I got mine today. Exactly two weeks and three days after it was collected by USPS.
Oh man, it's one sweet blade :D
Thanks Sal, Eric and Jeff as well as everyone involved and to you guys reading, for bearing with my banter.

That was pretty quick, all things considered. Enjoy! These have the boldest orange G10 I have seen, loving mine.

For some reason. I prefer it too.
