I have an original izula I just put handles on, even though it worked really well without scales or a wrap. It's really a whole different knife with the handles attached.

As for carry, lately I have been slipping the sheath in the small change pocket of my jeans, it's like it was meant for it. Other than that either back pocket or neck carry. Using it on a belt just never worked to well for me.

I bought an izula about a month ago. Sweet little fixed blade! I bought the belt clip and tek lok attachment for sheath as well. Wrapped the handle in cord. Tek lok works great for open belt carry. For more concealment, I tied cord through the sheath holes so I can carry it horizontally on my belt on my back. Works well!

I have an Izula 1, it is my woek EDC along with a Delica 4. I love it, it gets quite a bit of use and sharpens easily. I also use a tek lock with the included sheath. Esee knives are my favorite fixed blades, I have an Esee 4 as my camping knife.

I have an Izula 1 and love it except for a few things. The sheath is so so, I made a kydex replacement with a g clip and carry it iwb and its invisible. The blade coating is a little rough and sometimes impedes cutting a bit. These are just small annoyances, overall I love the blade. Can't wait for the stainless Izula to come out this year.

I was looking for an Izula a few months ago. I ended up making a trade for a Ka-Bar because the blade was a little longer. I hadn't planned on EDC it. I couldn't use it at all with a naked handle. I wrapped para cord around it. It was better but not good enough for hard cutting. The guy I traded with had started a set of oak handles and I finished them. Now, it is a comfortable knife to use hard and not hurt my hand. I really like the knife for a knife to use hard and not have to worry about anything. No pivot, lock or appearance concerns. The sheath is great for use as a neck knife (if you like that). I have a neck sheath for my Jester and I found it extrememly handy to carry it that way. I may like a bigger one also. I like the Jester higher up on my chest. I don't know if a fixed blade neck knife would be good that high. I might cut my head off when re-sheathing the knife. :) I had a mirror finish on the blade and indoors it looked good with a black blade with almost no scratches on it. Then I took it outside and the mirror bevel jumped out and said "hey, look at me!". I hated to mess up that bevel. :( I like it for a work around the house knife, camping knife (if I camped) or work knife (if I worked). I will say that owning every black blade knife I have other than Spyderco black blades has convinced me that Spyderco has the BEST method with the DLC. Or best I've ever seen.

I'm sure you will love the Izula. Being a little smaller than mine it should make a nice EDC knife.

Yeah Jack, I looked into the kabar and didn't pull the trigger. I'm going to carry it and want to be legal with the 3 inch knife law. The Izula 2 comes with scales which I wanted. I think it will make a great camp carry knife. I will try it on game if and when I get some. I'll most likely get a pocket holster made for it and that the factory clamped to my bag. I'll post pictures when I get it. USPS said today but I didn't thing it was going to happen. Guess it will be Monday..

I love my Izula 1. It doesn't get carried nearly enough. I decided to forgo the scales and cord wrap the handles. I also got a g-clip to go with it.

The extra length of the handle on the Izula II over the original really does make a difference for me (especially since the scales are *included*), though I still like my original Izula's also - When camping I carry one as a neck knife, compact yet handy and able to tackle quite a bit! Of course, I just received my new Candiru's in the mail yesterday, you talk about a *small* yet handy fixed-blade! :)

I have at least one each of *all* of the ESEE lineup, and like them all, but the Izula II is my favorite of the ESEE's right now for general cutting/whittling/stripping bark etc.

So far I'm pretty happy with the 1095. I wonder what it would cost for 3V??

More i'm sure, but from what i've read 3V is absolutely amazing when it comes to toughness. 1095 is a great steel but it's also not stainless like 3V is.

See above. I don't have a lot of 1095 experience so i'm just speculating on what i've read, but from what i've read about 3V, it would really shine in a knife like this.
