Meadowlark 2 Body Screws
Hi, I recently removed the scales from my Meadowlark 2 and managed to strip the heads of three of the torx body screws. Does anyone know the size of these screws so I can order some replacements? I called Spyderco, but they only carry replacement clip screws, which are a different size. Any help would be appreciated.
I can't help on the screws... but were you using the correct size Torx bit to remove the screws?

Yes, I was using the right size bit. The screws were really screwed down tight by the factory, overtightened really. The screws are not the best quality and stripped quite easily.
Edit: I forgot to mention I have the version with the G10 scales. I don't know if the FRN version uses the same size screws or not...

Check out this video, pretty good info on the torx:

Basically shows you what you need to do to not strip the screws. It will apply to the Byrd knives as well. If you notice on most T-6 screws, there is some play between it and the driver. If you can fit a T-7 torx in the screw head, there should be no play and much less of a chance to strip it. Also using more downforce instead of just turning the screw helps as well.
Since they are stripped, you might be able to use a hex bit. The warranty dept can prob replace them.

Call the Spyderco Outlet store? Not just Spyderco themselves... I believe you could send your knife in and have service done to it. It probably will cost you though because it was by negligence, not their fault, that the screws stripped.
