I won't know for sure until I try to reverse one. I'm on the road now. so I can't do that for a week or so.

I was just watching the Air video that wouter posted and I was wondering if it might be possible to have a soft leather sheath included? I have been really getting into and enjoying some European (especially French) gentlemans knives and they will often come with a soft sheath to slip the knife into...thought that it might be nice with the Air.
We'll be looking into that later this week.

Is there no possibility of a clip on the Air?
Not on the first run. Perhaps on a 2nd run. Tough design to add a clip to. Eric and I design the clips and we're running tight time-wise right now.

Any word on when the Fluted Ti Native 5 will hit the streets? I'm very much looking forward to it. Thanks!
We're still sorting some minor issues. Shouldn't be long, but they'll be limited production, so they be trickling out as we make them.

The dimples on the Tuff look awesome - sporty and unique. I hope you keep them.

Questions:

1. Approximate release date?

2. What is the purpose of making the choil so large? Its large size seems to sacrifice quite a bit of the cutting surface of the blade.

Thanks...looking forward to its release!
Don't have a delivery date. Will know when they're in and pass QC.

The large finger choil works well with gloves. there's still a lot of cutting edge.

Thank you for taking time to reply, Sal. I'll happily wait until all sorts out, but with great anticipation.

Thanks Sal for taking the time to answer some of our questions. Be nice to see a little pouch on the Air, and I am very glad there will not be a clip put on.

For the pouch, a nice soft black leather with the Spyderco logo stamped in would be nice. Course that would probably add to the cost by a bit...but would be the nicest option. So a suede one like the Kiwi one would be fin by me too. But in black please.

Everything's looking good Sal.

Can't wait to get my hands on the Szabo and Tuff. And now I have to add the Nilakka to my shopping list. I know that it is pukko-based but to me it looks like a proper traditional tanto made into a folder. Good stuff!

Hi sal

What's the blade length on the new szabo folder? Looks like it would be nice large second edc blade.

Thats the best news of the week on the forum! I'm excited about the possibility of a small titanium wire clip on the Air.

Had an opportunity to look at the Nilakka folder and don't think the clip is reversible.

Hmm, bit of a disappointment...but one I can live with as the overall design was far from lefty friendly any way.

Would be nice to see another no hump knife that was lefty friendly though.

No hump lefty frame lock? Come on Sal you know you wanna...ha ha.

Hi Sal,

I have a question regarding the sharp corner in Nilakka's handle next to the locking liner: does the liner have to be nested in the G10 slab? If it were not, the G10 would be two times thicker there and hence the possible hot spot in use would see only half the pressure it does now.

Thanks,
Mallus
