My Wife loves her Pink native, however she is not allowed to carry in her workplace, a medical facility. She does carry a Mrs Army knife (handy tools but low quality). She calls it a tool not a knife and has used it to fix med pumps with lose screws on many occasions. Apparently availability of the the medical equipment is more important than a slight bending of the rules so no one has complained yet. :)
It would be fantastic if we had a Spyderco knife with a screwdriver blade. I have a small SAK on my keyring just to have their little screwdriver. It works great on both slotted and Phillips screws found in computers. I have even thought about getting a Spyderco "Glock tool" and making one.
My wife carries either a Delica (she has 3; Pink, black and black CE) or an Ocelot. She will usually know where one of them is at most times :D

Since she is a lefty she leaves all my liner/frame and compression lock Spydercos alone

I voted Delica because she's at least somewhat interested in carrying a knife, and the Delica is a very useful package that comes in many colors.

My wife has a purple Ladybug in her purse, but has never used it. She still tears packages open with her keys or fingernails.

kennethsime wrote:To make a long story short, the girlfriend really likes the Kershaw Chive (in pink, of course). She recently lost her's, which gives me the opportunity to make her try out a spydie. She's seen the Matriarch, and she's said she'll try it. She's interested in something for self-defense as well as every day stuff. I know the ultimate answer will be that she'll like what she likes, carry what she carries, but I thought I'd ask on the forum anyway.

So, have you convinced your significant other to carry a spydie? If so, which one/s?

Bonus Poll!: These are the three I have in mind. Which would you suggest?
That's funny because my girlfriend carries the pink kershaw chive aswell. I would get her a pink/purple spyderco, but she doesn't like lock back. I think the pink Manix 2 is too big..

My wife's favorite knife is an OCC Leek though she doesn't carry it. Every now and then she does take it out. She also has a Manix Moonglow which she occasionally gets out for the "glow". She does carry mace and keeps it handy.

My GF thinks the Spyderhole is "Ugly" so she doesn't really like any Spyderco's with the exception of the Bug because it's so "little and cute" which she keeps on a necklace and uses for mail and packaging.

My wife was carrying a Red Persian--until she discovered what that they were going for $200 on eBay. She wanted something less expensive in case it got lost. So I gave her a blue FFG Delica. It's not as "sexy" as the Persian but is light and easily found in her purse. She's also had a pink Jester on her keychain for years.

My wife carries her C105GP2 Persian (75mm) for EDC and loves it. (I do too, for that matter ;) ). I picked this one up on the 'Bay for about $110 shipped. I would highly recommend this knife!

My girlfriend carriers a yellow se Pacific Salt, I believe se edge is a good choice for someone that does not know how to touch up a knife. I general check her blade atleast once a month to sharpen it. H-1 se hold a great edge, the only part that was dull is the plain edged tip which is to be expected, but with a few passes on the UF rods and the tip and serrations shaved :)

I bought my wife a pink KaBar Dozier that she carried for a long time but rarely used. Then I bought her a Dragonfly tattoo that she never used. Recently my Orange Military has been missing from it's usual spot on my nightstand! That's cool with me though, I'm glad she's found one she likes and will use/carry. Also an excuse to buy the left-handed Military I've always wanted :)

My better half carries a blue Kopa in the purse and a pink mini grip in the camp bag. Ohh and she has a Temperance strapped to her backpacking gear. She also just finished her first mule handle. What can I say, my girl has good taste in knives.

One thing nice about the Delica is they come in wide variety of colors, so if she gets used to
the feel of the Delica and more comfortable with it, you can get you another one in a different
color. The wife carries a green delica now, although I have been trying to get her to strap
a Schempp Rock above the knee.

My lady mostly carries her dragonfly, but she sometimes can be found with a serrated delica 4.
