PICS!

Just in case you don't know (Top: Cat, Native 5, Dragonfly2 G10, Dodo)

No liners. Not a deal breaker, but looks cheap without them.

One thing to note being a lefty. The screw holding the clip requires two torx drivers to remove it. I used a 9 and 8 from my precision set and it worked well.

Operation is smooth and the orange G10 POPS! I love the lock. The blade seems functional for most duties except for scraping. When I put it in rotation I'll use my Skeletool blade for that.

For me the Native 5 is still the perfect EDC, but this orange Dodo is awesome. I can see the appeal.

USA Earth! Awesome.

Can't wait to get mine and post a pic of it next to my Poliwog. That will be an interesting pair.

Just at the right place at the right time. My pre-order with KC is still in. I was shocked that I was able to get it so quickly from the Spyderco Store. I ordered it Friday. All the stars were aligned. Finally a little good luck for a change. Good luck to you.

The scales are MUCH MUCH brighter than these pics will show. MUCH brighter. Like a Gatorade bottle cap.

Hope Howes gets enough for all the pre-orders. I am super thirsty for this little knife.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

The addition of washers is most welcome.
The pivot screw and the clip screw are different than original, and the spine is satin instead of blasted.
The new one has the bug logo.
These are the only differences I have found so far.

The ball lock feels much more solid on the orange one, but that's probably because I've used the heck out of the blue one. You can see the difference in the tips.

Great knife!

Edit:

Also, there is steel nested in the off clip side scale. Not sure what that's about.
The original is G10 both sides, with no visible washers, and definitely no nested steel.
Hopefully you can see it in this pic:

I'm so jealous right now!

Nice pics guys. Just got my shipping notice today from Howe's. Eloreno, did the tip of the blue one come like that or is that from sharpening?

Angus,

The tip of the blue one got worn down from sharpening. It used to be just as pointy as the orange one.

That extra steel insert must be the "blind pin".

I can't wait to get my Dodo!
