Did I buy two fakes :(

#1

Post by VirtuousWolf »

I think I might have bought two fake spyderco's :( Well I guess this is useless without pics, any idea on how to post pics? The forum is saying the files are too big :( Sorry If I should have searched first, and sorry if I was supposed to post this in the "fakes" section.

size the pics down in "paint" or edit the resolution.

if youre on an apple which i am its a pain, i usually have to use the edge blur to make it work.

Or you can resize the pictures to make the small enough for the forum. Even MS Paint will work if you have nothing better. What makes you think they may be fakes?

What online seller did you buy them from. Were they posted on ebay? Maybe you can paste a link here and we can check it out.

I don't know why you are having trouble with your apple. I use the export function in iPhoto and the output is easily customizable to get the best quality pics you can upload to the forum and still be under the 100K.

im on my brothers mac laptop, 85% of the pics ill take cant be uploaded and ill even try to resize them and still the same results, ill end up just doing the stupid edge blur and itll upload.

one more thing is on the apple when my pic finally uploads its freaking HUGE, i cant figure out how to post a normal sized picture that fits the thread properly.

ill have to look for the export function next time i upload a picture. never had an issue with my old dell pc,

thanks

Photos can be easily hosted and resized on sites like photobucket. Otherwise you need to use a photo editor to resize the photos to upload them as a file.

Ok I made a photobucket here it is :D

http://s1058.photobucket.com/albums/t40 ... ?start=all

So I don't want to sound picky, I would just like to ask you experts if they are real because I do not want to be a spyderco faker. So I have a couple of questions are the blades not suppose to be cool to the touch? And do the G-10 handles have different trim on them, the military feels more rough which is nice. Both of them did not come sharp, so I am going to order the sharpmaker by spyderco because I am scared of mailing the knives because the post office lost a civilian I ordered. The military has a little bit of side to side play also, maybe I need to adjust something.

Again I do not want to nit pick they are nice knives and I am a Spyderco customer for life, I am already researching which one I should buy next haha! I'm thinking I will just save up for the "forum blade" I read about ;)

Thanks everyone, oh and please feel free to let me know if I need to get a different angle on one of the knives to verify if they are real!

They look fine. What do you mean by "suppose to be cool to the touch"?
We would rather be the knife in your pocket, because is "works" better, than the knife in your showcase, because it "looks" better.

I have neither of those knives but they look legit to me. Were these brand new in box or used? What do you mean by "are the blades not suppose to be cool to the touch?" If you leave them out on a cold night they'll be cold. If you put them in a toaster oven they'll be hot :D I'm sorry if I'm missing the meaning. Also when you are in photobucket, when you hover your mouse over one of your pictures, a list will come up. Click on the "IMG code" box and then paste in your post so your pictures show up here.

I have yet to see anyone faking the Military or Civilian on ebay or anywhere else. Look like the real deal to me.

thank you all so much! This might sound dumb but I have felt blades before that feel a couple degrees colder than the room they are in. Kind of like when you touch certain poles outside they feel cold.

I can understand the coated blade not feeling as cold but the other one should feel normal.
"A Mastiff is to a dog what a Lion is to a housecat. He stands alone and all others sink before him. His courage does not exceed temper and generosity, and in attachment he equals the kindest of his race" Cynographia Britannic 1800
