Far out! Did the glue come off nicely after, or not? Cool!

- best wishes, Jazz.

Thanks :D

Jazz, the glue was in strings and was pretty easy to pick off, heating it under hot water seemed to make the glue more pliable and easier to remove.

Spydesense, I just drizzled the handle with glue from a hot glue gun then dropped it in purple dye. After the handle was dyed I peeled the glue off to reveal the pattern. Super easy and took less than ten minutes in total.

I used RIT dye, I tried to dye it green with another brand of dye from walmart and it had no effect on the frn.

Great job. I never thought about the glue gun idea. After seeing your knife I'll definately remember it. :)

Hi Coulro,

Superb work on the whole dye job! I just got a Dragonfly 2 and Lady bug 3 Salt and was thinking of dyeing some funky colors. I've seen people use silicone, plumber's goop and what seems to be the easiest is yours using hot glue.

Quick question: I've read that dyeing with boiling water is supposedly great. Did you use warm/hot/boiling water? Did it affect your dried glue?

Thanks a bunch :D Loving the color. I assume you've already got yourself a new one and made an even more wicked dye job?!
