Of course the final price ended up being $146 but those who got it for $117 got a great deal. I know 204P is technically better than XHP, but the price difference for the "early Ernies" puts me (at least) in favor of the Ernie. I have been thinking about how that thing is going to look in my pocket however...
I guess this means the M390 PM2 is the "Cookie Monster", the DLC-coated model is the "Count", the 204p version is the "Oscar" or "Kermit", and the S35vn version is the "Snuffleupagus". I'm not sure what the grey 20CP sprint is - and of course, we still need an "Elmo" (red trainer) and a "Bert" (salt yellow).

I think everyone wins. KW and CS both sold out huge in a hurry, Spyderco gets a ton of Para2's sold in a hurry, and we get 2 awesome new blades. The only people who lose out are those that waited or didn't act quick enough.

I'm not surprised in the least that the 204P Para2 sold out so quickly. :) For the quality of the steel, the price could not be beat. It's been said far and wide: this is the year of the Para2! We are all so lucky to be able to use such a wide variety of steels in such a high-quality product. :D Thank you Sal and crew!

I second that! Thank you Sal and crew! Cant wait to get it.
That's amazing. I am glad I got on the list for 1 of these bad boys. Come this summer when all the new limited para colors hit the streets let the swapping begin. :)
I'm not sure about the color palette than Spyderco is using here... Looking at the color wheel, they should be providing Para2s with complementary colors - basically, colors which are opposite each other on the wheel. Spyderco offered the blue and orange this year - a classic complementary color pair. Once the green hits the street, we will need a red trainer version to balance it.
What's after that? How about a yellow H1 version paired with a pretty purple one for the ladies?

Not all too surprising, since the darkish green is much more low-key. Lots of people, I'm guessing, don't want to carry a bright orange knife in their pocket. I'm reminded of how many people don't even like unpainted clips, and who either dull the clip or paint it.

This color will look great next to stonewashed 204p blade and clip.
It was more a tong in the cheek comment then anything else. Both are great sprint runs.

Wow so disappointed, this is the first sprint in a long time that I missed the boat on. I was extremely busy this past week and didn't visit the forum like I do daily. Well it looks like the bay/secondary is where I will have to go. I saw the thread the other day and I was shocked how fast they went...even faster than the CS.
Yeah...almost literally blink and it's gone. Sort of amazing for a completely unknown (at least unknown in knife blades) steel but quite a testimony to the Para2 and the reputation of M390. :spyder:
