Knife Works Para2 up for preorder
I would like to have a blue one and an earth brown s35vn one but the blue one is too pricey to where I have to think about it alot....the earth brown one just isnt much different than the standard black one with s30v.
I would have bought an orange one in a second if I had that chance....but missed it. I did order two green ones though.
How come that spydie wiki doesnt show the earth brown one in the list at all with the XHP steel? I have seen some for sale for $210 shipped. Isnt that high?

I just realized I don't even have a standard Para 2 yet. I have all of the newest uber exotics either here or on pre-order. But I am yet to buy an S30V version. I may not even get one at all. This sure is an expensive year already.

Man, this is a banner year for the Para2! It is going to be hard to top this next year - what are come materials we haven't seen on the P2 platform yet?
STEEL
- Elmax
- Super Blue (Japanese only steel...)
- M4
- CPM-3v
- CPM-s110v
- ZDP-189 (Japanese only steel...)
- CPM REX 76
SCALES
- Titanium
- Burgundy G10
I was also thinking about micarta (Tan canvas micarta like on the Temp2 or Burgundy linen micarta like the Baby Goddard sprint). But the precision required for the nested liners may make micarta out-of-the-question. It has a tendency to expand and contract slightly with environmental conditions. Not so much that you would notice it - but the nested liners might not tolerate it.

The Ernie PM2 started out at $117 and lots of people got it for that price (or not much more) and free shipping on top of that. Of course the final price ended up being $146 but those who got it for $117 got a great deal. I know 204P is technically better than XHP, but the price difference for the "early Ernies" puts me (at least) in favor of the Ernie. I have been thinking about how that thing is going to look in my pocket however...Blerv wrote:I love CS but honestly feel the XHP one sold too fast. Surprising being orange as its a great color for us fanatics but not for the rest of the world. I'm wondering if the Nutnfancy folks jumped on it too as he pushes CS as his pick.
Not that that is a bad thing, nor is XHP. Just that 204p in green is the same cost and a more mainstream aesthetic.
Lol, love the Ernie reference :) .-F1 wrote:The Ernie PM2 started out at $117 and lots of people got it for that price (or not much more) and free shipping on top of that. It's great that the early price is being upheld. I know that was an issue in another thread (or at least a perceived issue). 204p might have certain advantages but XHP is definitely no slouch. Many put it on par with ZDP-189 or better; at $117 the deal is criminal!
It's a good time in history to be a steel snob.
PS: Yea I pre-ordered the orange Dodo too. Not sure how my pocket is going to look.
I wanted one is XHP but now they are being sold for $180 or more and that sucks! I would have bought one for $117 or $146 but $180 or more, not worth it!-F1 wrote:The Ernie PM2 started out at $117 and lots of people got it for that price (or not much more) and free shipping on top of that.
