Modded Gayle Bradley

As some of you may have seen I made a comment about closing my GB in another GB thread that lead to a discussion between another forum member and myself. Well, thanks to darkstar29 (I have his permission to mention him) I have a GB with a relief on the scale to make closing easier. I have attached pictures. The knife is much more of a joy to use now! Instead of my carrying my Sage 1 exclusively on work days, I think the GB will get some pocket time now. Thanks again darkstar29!

Congratulations. I'm thinking of buying a GB, too. What is your experience with this knife?

Looks like a nice clean mod...congrats.

I've never had an issue easily unlocking the GB even with work gloves on, but there are some that find it more easily disengaged. I think that it does ugly the knife up a bit though...just a bit.

But the GB is a great great choice no matter what you need to do to it. It is I think my favorite. It is a better slicer than the PM2 and I think that I would trust it to handle just as heavy duty tasks. Also, I love M4 as a great all round steel. In fact I think that it is the best all round steel. A great combination of edge retention and toughness.

Keep it dry. Oil it. Under those conditions, it may discolor, but it won't really rust.

Glad you like it, Alchemy1 :) It's not perfect, but I did what I could. :)

Thanks for the advice. Is this steel much better than ZDP-189?

So I take it Darkstar did the work? I think it turned out great. I saw another like this, not sure who's it was. The original design takes a little getting used to but not too bad I think.

Thanks for sharing, looks great and enjoy it!

It's tougher but is not stainless. There are other details but that is the bulk of it.

There is a sliding scale of benefits for steel, very few "better" out there unless you define a priority on a specific area.

Great work!
It functions and that is what a tool is supposed to do.

You know, Alchemy..after looking at the last pic, I think I could have made it better.. At least evened out the liner and scale ratio on the back end of the choil.. Funny. I didn't notice it in my hands or the pics I sent you, but in the pics you posted the goof is glaring :o Apologies, sir.. I should have done better :( :o Please don't hate me?

I'm plenty happy with it :) . I'm just glad that now I feel like I can actually use the thing instead of it sitting up collecting dust.
