are dragonfly lightweights still easy to find ?
After 6 years I actually lost my lifesaving dragonfly... and I wonder if I will ever find the same kind again .
This one had a particular handle ; it was smooth and bi-color , waffles of grey and green tiny squares ... was that a limited edition ? If not , is it easy to find ? thank you !

Welcome aboard,
As far as I know, there have been 3 editions of Dragonfly out.
SS(Stainless Steel), FRN(Fibreglass Reinforced Nylon, aka Zytel), and CF(Carbon Fibre). I'll get years for you as soon as I bring my books up.
From your desc of the colors, it sounds like a CF, and they are hard to find over here. You may be in luck if you search the dealers overseas. There is a dealer in japan(but I don't have it bookmarked) who specializes in hard to find Spydies.
Good luck in your search.

Reggie,
Uh...welcome aboard. Sit patiently among our many afflicted brethren and swap lifesaving Spydie war stories. I'll see if I can find Sword and Shield and we'll begin the SATC admittance procedure.
That Japanese is the honorable Naohiko Hasegawa and his shop is called Hamonoichiba.

Click on the Red English: Spyderco link to view the Spydies.
Best to ya!...and to you, <img src="http://rygel.free.fr/images/smiles/asthanos.gif">wolf, my fine Northern brother!

That's the Carbon Fibre version.
(not in 96 book) Started in 97, still going 98, discon'ed 99(no book) or 00(not in book).
The other site has an english section on it. Just need to convert the prices.
EDIT: I have 2 SS 'Fly models in my collection. Regular PE, and Engraved PE.

you guys live up to these blades .....very sharp !!
thank you all so much for every little detail - conversions was my latest bump - and I will definitely let you know about my purchase...
I think this is a french foreign legion saying...:
"j'y vais avec ma bite et mon couteau "
(I'm going with my dick and my knife)
- meaning he is travelling with the strict minimum required '-)

when you email him to order, you just have to include the model number. Easy to do with him. Think it's 3day shipping to USA.
I've always run by a quote I read by Mark 'Animal' McYoung "If you're not as intimate with your knife as you are with your dick, don't even bother bringing it out in a fight"
I know my knives blindfolded.

I'm the guy who will sit watching TV, bring the knife out of the right pocket, open, rotate a few times, test(still using right only), and bring out my stone from the left pocket... without stopping the right hand. I sharpen while watching TV, and have only cut myself once like that.
The true knife user can be found by looking for the guy who removes his fixed blade, uses it and replaces it with one hand without ever looking at or feeling for the knife/sheath. Thats when you know they are used to a knife.

reggie,
Sorry, I just got back to the computer. The knife I wanted to show you, the one you mentioned (Left in Image 2), as VW has noted is the carbon fiber (CF) Dragonfly. You will love it, (right, you already had one). The other image (1) shows the Calypso Jrs. FRN, Micarta, and SS handles (L to R).
