30 days after? I'd say around 200 and voted for that. :D

$250-275 is my guess. That's how much the smaller sprints have been going for.

I voted 225-250. I'm sure there will be BiNs for 3 bills+, though.

I'm sure some bought for the "LIMITED TIME SPECIAL PRE-ORDER PRICE" just to sell them on the bay.

ok, this is one of my pet peeves. I would never buy a knife anywhere anytime under these circumstances. Why feed the monster. I hate it when people buy in bulk to re-sell at a grossly increased margin. It defeats the nature in which the knife was intented.

Spyderco puts considerable time and labor into a sprint type project and limits the number for various reasons. One reason is not so that some jackleg can double the price and make a profit. I am not necessarily talking about the person that buys an extra one so that they can sell it and help pay for the first one. I am referring to the purchase of numerous knives with the sole intent to take advantage of the situation.

Some may call it good business and being at the right place at the right time, but something about it just doesn't set well with me. Of course, no one is twisting anyone's arms to buy a knife in this situation, so if its worth it to you and you pay double or more that's your business. I just don't like the opportunist that takes advantage of a situation.

ok, now I'll jump off my soap box and see what I can find a NIB Grey Para 2 for.

And if they did, Adam Smith will be very proud of them. Unless we want to go with an Eastern Bloc command economy, people will take advantage of an opportunity to make a profit, which is all that will be. If someone buys one of these at the prices mentioned above (which I think are likely), it's an entirely voluntary decision and it's their choice and responsibility. It's not like buying up flu vaccine or kidneys.

I had to resort to the after-market recently for a Sprint. My brother was having health problems and I needed to send him a gift to make him feel better. I realized that the gray Para2 sprint was the perfect present. But since I couldn't give up mine, I had to buy it on the aftermarket. I was happy to pay the premium for the knife because I found one on the lower end of the price spectrum. I'm just glad that someone was making these available...

I understand that our country is based on the free market system and taking advantage of a situation. No problem. Taking it to the extreme, however would be a company that was waiting for the Orange Para at CS and immediately bought all 800 knives at the initial $117 and then turned around and offered them for $250 and as they sold contintued to raise the price to 300, then 350 etc.

You have been checking CS everyday waiting for the knife to become available. You wake up early one morning, get online, only to find out that they are sold out, but you can pick one up for 250 from Mr. Opportunity. I am sure that there would be some that would appreciate the opportunity to pick the knife up from them to add to their collection, at any cost. To me it just defeats the integrity of what I believe is the intent of a sprint run by Spyderco, to offer a quality blade of different steels, colors to their customers in a limited number.

On the opposite side, their are several Spyderco's that I was not able to buy for various reasons (original Manix, Chinook 2, worker, Renegade etc) and I would pay a premium to get one.

It just reminds me of the ticket companies that have connections and buy huge blocks of concert tickets (and the best seats) before they are available to the public and then
double or triple the price and sell to those who have been waiting to see their favorite band for years and this is their only opportunity.

Maybe Mr. Smith would be proud, maybe not.

I can be wrong, but I IMHO that 800 is fairly large run and quite a few people bought them to resell. So I think that price shouldn't be high, under $175.

CS is listed as Sold Out now. Glad i got it on it when I did. I've had to pay out far more than I would've like for some sprints that I wanted and missed the boat on. I was lucky to get my orders in on this one and the Blue PM2.

Last time (the orange Manix 2 from CS), there was a member at BF who had a whole series he was selling at prices waaaaaay above the original retail. I mention that mostly because if anyone's interested (I'm not :) ) you could search his for sale threads and, if the prices weren't deleted, use them as data points for guessing on this one. Para2 might be hotter than Manix 2, though, and XHP is definitely hotter than S30V, so if someone does that research, those factors need to be factored in. Or you could just put some Orville in the microwave and see what happens. :)

Certainly, at least in my book.
BTW, one of the reason, why I am thinking about less $175, is that currently Para CTS-20CP currently catching just over $200 and it looks like that CTS-20CP even hotter than XHP. I have no doubts that first pieces of Orange Para will catch premium on e-bay, but later (in a month or less) I think prices would go down at least for a while. We will just wait and see.

117$ was a great deal and I wouldn't wanna pay a premium for this one just to feed the "ebay trolls". There will aways be a cooler sprint in the future like a silver twill/ elmax or moonglow/ vanax 75 para 2.

I could be way off, but i am saying $200-225. We haven't even hit the 30 day mark for the blue one. what are these still going for?

I agree with you on this black. That's another reason that I love Spyderco, there are continuous great sprint runs and choices. I can't keep up getting all of the production models. let alone the sprints. THe sprints are great, because they are one of kind (well sort of), but I use my knives and the thing that I am cutting doesn't care if there are 799 other ones like this or 10K. - A different reason for the collector though.

Consider that a Blue M390 PM2 sold on ebay Jan 1st for $256 and one a few days ago for $250.
I foresee the orange fetching just as much as the blue. I imaging a lot going for retail + shipping as well.
