Stretch ZDP-189

Amazing knife! I've had and used the Stretch for a couple of months now and it's my all time favorite. I've worked construction, farmed, hunted, served in the military, and have used a knife for 55 years. I started with an Old Timer and moved to Buck and then Puma. This is my first Spyderco and I've bought in ZDP a Delica, Ladybug, D'fly, and waiting on the Endura all FFG BRG. I also got the SM with all the stones and they work well in my homemade sharpener.
I don't do test other than real use and really like the edge that ZDP will take and maintain.

Nice. I need to work on my stretch now. Still a little intimidated by ZDP so it doesn't get used as it would like... What angle(s) is your set on?

Great photo you can't get a much finer edge on a knife than that!

is that a 30 degree edge, or lower? Great Pic, and great knife with great steel.

My ZDP/FRN Stretch is the sharpest knife I've got. I put a 30 degree inclusive edge and polished it up to .3 micron on the EP and for some reason it just cuts better than about anything else I own. Aesthetically it isn't the most attractive to me (although I really like the blue FRN), but the knife just works and I can 100% see why it is so popular.

If it came with a 30 degree angle, I removed quite a bit of the shoulder, it is probably 22 to 24 degrees now and it maintains the edge well.

Awesome shot. Sal should buy it from you and use in an ad or on the 2013 catalog. Just sayin'.

Very impressive picture and edge on the Stretch. That happens to be my favorite model as well. I need to spend more time sharpening to try to get the kind of slice you have there. I never tried to fillet paper.

Wow, awesome pic! That deserves to make the 2013 calender!

You've got me intrigued now with the Stretch in ZDP...
