I have both as well, and It wold be nice to be able to carry both as many of us do. I like carrying a small knife like th DF and a larger one which I rotate from my sm collection.

Spyderbro, that was great of you! I would have done the same if I had one to give out. I may have some good deals coming sooner or later, so keep your eyes out.

Wow, problem solved, he?! ;) Great move from Spyderbro. I would also have voted Delica anyway. It's the more versatile knife.

On a legal note, since you said you're in Germany. You're not allowed to carry a one-hand locking folder in public here :/ I know, sucks. Have you checked the lightweight UKPKs? They are non-locking, in size very comparable to the Delica and are really good knives for a decent price. And you'll be able to carry them pretty much everywhere without risking trouble.

As for the price, check out ebay before buying your Spydies here in Germany! Even with import VAT in most cases it's still WAY cheaper to order them abroad. I know, some people frown upon buying stuff from ebay and prefer specialized dealers. Thing is, most American knife shops don't ship international or only offer very expensive UPS express or something like. So for me ebay is a good way to get as much value for my money as possible.

Well I voted Delica before I saw that you were gifted one. What a great thing to do. I think you will be super happy with the Delica. It is a great EDC. I fall into a very small category of folks that just do not like the D'Fly. It's (for me) just too small for me. The handle makes it uncomfortable for me to get a secure grip. Really have tried to like it but it just doesn't do it for me. Great little blade though.

I prefer the Delica. Dragonfly is useful though I wish it had a little beefier grip.

I woulda thought the boys in Golden would've held this distinction, or at the very least,be included in the list  .
Just like with guitars, they're made in lots of places, and some are very nice, but when you say "A Real Fender Stratocaster", you're talking about a guitar that was made in.... California,USA,Earth. :D

Back on topic, though my first and only D2 is a day late in the mail ( now a weekend :( ), I also gotta vote with the Delica, though this decision has generously been made for you, you lucky bastage !!!

The G10 Dragonfly feels like a tank in my hands, can't imagine a more stout folder in that size. It's as thick or thicker than many knives with much larger blades.

The Dragonfly2 is a nice little knife, but it is a little knife. I bought both the Delica 4 FFG and the Dragonfly 2 as my first Spyderco purchase. I quickly found that the additional weight/size of the Delica 4 was a minor concession and totally worth it, for me, to have a more useful working blade and better, again for me, ergonomics. I don't dislike the Dragonfly 2 at all, but for me it's too small for a main EDC blade, whereas the Delica 4 is nearly perfect. And when it comes down to practical carry, the Delica 4 is still very light, slim, and conceals in the pocket. Plus, I really like the color options in FRN.

Hope this helps.

Remember that almost any sharp knife with a locking mechanism can be a SERIOUS weapon and when used it can stop an attacker right in his tracks. If you wanted to kill an attacker a Delica would do it but a Dragonfly will only leave him hurting.

I don't think anyone is proposing the D'fly be used for self defense purposes, that would be silly.

How? It may be small but it would leave a gash 2+ inches deep! On 9/11 the hijackers took over the plane with box cutters with 1 inch blades. Like I said it won't kill someone but it will stop an attacker quick. And that is the whole point of self defense.
