What Ted said. Since I don't have the Ti Millie (still on preorder) I would have to choose the Para 2 in 20CP as my favorite for 2011. Everything about this knife is just right. Also like the Sage 1 and Caly super blue. Dern, did somebody say favorite(s) for 2011? Just so many good ones it's hard to decide.

I didn't bought a 2011 spyderco, BUT a think that 2012 will bring us many cool new models... Like the Puukko, pygmee warior, techno, etc.

I can't keep spending so much money on knives. This year alone i think ive spend 3500-4000 euro or more - 4,569.94 USD - 5,222.79 USD on knives(it's late and i'm drinking a nice Belgian beer, Westmalle tripel). This was my first real year as a knife collector.

I have also other things to buy...

I understand what you are saying. I spent waaay to much on Spydies last year. I'll join you in the adult beverage, having a nice glass of Julius Echter Hefeweizen. Merry Christmas, wishing you a healthy and happy new year.

Yes, the Chaparral is made in Taichung. The Chaparral is quite a bit smaller than the Sage in every dimension. To me, they are completely different in the hand. Also, the Sage's blade is a full millimeter thicker, and that makes a big difference.

I can tell you that since I have gotten my Chappral, I have not carried my Sage 1 one time. It's a great pocket carry for many of my uses. The small difference in size makes a big diffrence in lack of intrusion into my pocket space.

I'm with the Deacon--Chaparral all the way. It's just about as perfect a "dress"/all-around light-duty folder as there is, plus it has a longer blade than most in that category. Also, it made me a fan of textured carbon fiber scales.

Favorite of 2011 and all time so far is the Spyderco Sage1. The Chaparral is equal as long as I can have both. However, if I could only have one it would be the Sage1 without question because it is a bit tougher. Keeping that thought in mind the Gayle Bradley I'd consider in the running but as the Chaparral is a little too small to be my only knife the GB is a little big for EDC with my lifestyle now (retired, not working any more). If I was still working where a tougher knive would be needed it would be the GB without question. As for working the Manix2 w/M4 would be in the running but not as an EDC knife. I would EDC the GB as my only knife.

So, I've thought it through and my final answer is the Sage1.

I dont have as many Spyderco blades as you guys. From those that I have, the Para2 S30V is the best knife I got this year.

Mine goes to the Chaparral as well.

I really want to try the Vallotton, so that may be my next knife.

Since I JUST received this in the mail yesterday... M4 Manix 2 gets my vote :D :D Beautiful! Your fingers just stick to the g10, feels amazing in your hand, and its smooth as glass opening up!! :) I seriously cannot get over how smooth it opens!!

The Navaja. I don't own another knife with the combination of elegance, ergonomics (it's amazing how many grips I find comfortable - from a scalpel grip to a light chopping grip), action (probably the easiest opener I have, while still maintaining a great detent), general cutting ability, and an impressive reach. A fine tribute to the carracca style knife.
