Hello All,
I'm new to the forum and thanks to all for the good tips and advice I've seen here. I've carried a small SAK (Classic, Esquire)for many years, and recently got a few Spydies for the first time (they do tend to multiply - -Delica, Navigator, and a couple each of the Jester and LadyBug Combo Edge - more to come I guess . . .)
The Jester and Ladybug are the most comparable to what I have usually carried, and would like members' views on the utility of each. Based on a limited sampling, the LadyBug seems a bit more useful for a very small blade(sharp point for small work, super sharp chisel grind/serrated edge). The ergonomics on the Jester seem a bit better, but I'm still getting used to the blade shape. I'm surprised that I like the Ladybug so much, since my preferance is for a plain edge, and it's the first serrated edge folder I have owned.
Thanks, and any comments would be appreciated.
Joe

Hello Joe, welcome to the Forum. I also like microspidies. In fact, my very first spydie was a Ladybug. I was (and still am) delighted by it. Such cutting power into such a small knife! In the book "The Spyderco Story" someone claims that he skinned a whole bear using only his Ladybug!
I also find peculiar the tip of the Jester, but considering it was designed for cutting and not for stabbing it's OK. Besides, that particular shape conferrs a better resistance to the blade. The ergonomics are better than the Ladybug's you can easily one hand open the knife, though it's that small.
