Nice find! The orange drop points are rather scarce lately.

Here is a pic of my Moran- first pic just in the sheath I made for it because I always carry my Moran on my "Murse"- my man purse I always have with me-, second picture, and the stock sheath was a bit too bulky to fit. :p

Ok, having a little trouble posting with photobucket but I think I figured it out. First pic is my Moran that I edc on my "murse", or manpurse which is second pic. :p That's the bag I take to work, to the range, skiing, etc, I guess it's my edc bag! The Moran fits the best in that space you see there. I also made a sheath for my Street Beat that fits in there too, but with ski season on us, I figure the Moran to be the one I carry in the mountains.

The Moran is a great gift for any one, makes a nice kitchen blade.

Nice sheath and carry set-up Cubsfan.

Only the very early ones were convex grind. They also had leather sheaths and gold lettering. IIRC, the gold lettering changed to black around the same time the grind was changed, but the leather sheaths continued for several years longer.

I had to chime in on this knife. I picked one up over the summer as a deer skinning knife. I've only had the chance to use it on two deer so far but its worked great. After each time I gave it three or four strokes on the sharpmaker fine stones and it was as sharp as when I started. This season isn't over yet but at the end I imagine it will end up being the only knife I use for this.

Nice to hear some real world use of the Moran.

The moran I have has the black lettering but its mirror polished and convexed. I wish they still did them this way and I also wish I had picked up another when I bought the first.

The first one I had was the same, with the leather sheath. I couldn't bring myself to carry it, so I sold it to my brother, and it was stolen out of his truck. So it is floating around Virginia somewhere.
I wish I had kept it, oh well.

Did everyone tell Santa they wanted a Moran for Christmas? I asked for the black blade version. Even if you have one, you can find a place for the second one.

My friend has skinned ten hogs with only one sharpening of the orange drop point Moran. It was his first experience with VG-10 and now he swears by it.
