Well I sharpened both my Manix 2 CTS-XHP and blue Endura 4 today but will have to give the nod to the Endura. On the Manix 2 I re-profiled it to 30 inclusive starting off with an Xcourse DMT diamond, then course, fine, Xfine, white stones on the Sharpmaker and then leather strop with green paste.

For the Endura it's edge was in bad shape so went the same route as the Manix minus the Xcourse.

Can't say with certainty but my USN catcherman would definitely be in the mix. This was razor sharp out of the box and with a light stropping.......look out. Danger, warning, dive, dive.

Easily my Caly 3 CF ZDP-189. I got this sharpened by my boss who happens to do professional sharpening. I finished it on my Spyderco X-Fine Ceramic Stone and got a nice mirror edge on it.

Thanks for your giveaway!

I'd say my VG-10 endura is the sharpest I own. Reprofiled to 22 degrees inclusive back bevel. Reworked with the EP with moldmaster 320,400,600 then EP 1000, then Spyderco UF rod. Last, micro beveled with UF rod to 40 degrees.

I have a Chinook II CE that came nasty sharp, and takes the nicest edge of any Spydie I own. Just use crock sticks to dress the edge every now and then.Second in line is my 9cr Mule it gets nasty sharp also.

This Spyderco started life as a SE Atlantic Salt. I had Tom Krein remove the serrations and regrind it to 0.005" behind the edge. Tom sharpened it to 600 grit which was not the most comfortable shave every by any stretch.

I sharpened it up on my Spyderco bench stone set (medium, fine, ultra-fine). Then stropped on two different strops.

That was an acceptable shave, but I ended up sending it out for some sub-micron work in CA by a fellow knife bro, gunmike1. He used lapping film to finish off the edge to around 0.3 micron. He was generous and kind enough to send some lapping films home with the knife. Thanks again gunmike1. This produced a very comfortable shave.

Back around the second week of November I received my Endura 4 FFG in Purple FRN. I shaved hair ut of the box. After a little stropping session it was the sharpest knife I had held in years. I mainly do most of my sharpening by hand and was really impressed. Thanks for the opportunity! Great looking stone knife! Primitive is definitely cool.

Thanks for the contest. The sharpest knife I have is the one in my pocket. It's a S30V Native. The reason it's the sharpest is that I went back and rewatched the DVD that came with my sharpmaker and followed all the instructions. I'd been getting fair results with the 204 until the review. Now it seems like I'm over the hump and really understand what I should expect through each stage of sharpening. The light went on and I'm finally making blades sharp.

My sharpest Spyderco are probably the two C79 Assists that current ride in the gloves boxes of my vehicles. The are still factory sharp because they have never been used in an emergency (and hopefully can stay that way!).

poster #15 Congratulations Adriaan!!! PM me with your shipping address and I'll tuck the stone point into into a small bubble wrap envelope and get it on it's way to Belgium. Prior to generating the number I ruled out post #'s 17 and 24 as they were additional posts.

More than likely there will be another modest, but interesting item in the envelope as well :D My office contains some interesting items :) I will contact you with the shipping details after it is sent.

Thanks to everyone who participated :) as well as those did not :) Merry Christmas and good will to all of the folks here as well as anyone who happens to read this :)

The real joy of this season is in the act of freely giving and creating goodwill even if the gifts are modest. It is very satisfying to bring a smile to another's face :D

Enjoy the holiday folks :)

Thanks for a cool contest/thread. Seeing how sharp I can get my blades is half the fun of being 'Spyderco obsessed.' :)

Agreed, sharpening is one of those skills where you can always get just a little better. It's very enjoyable to make blades very sharp :D :spyder: gives us the materials and this forum has helped me get to the point where I'm sharpening other peoples knives.

It's great fun to see their jaw drop when they get them back despite the very conservative edges I give them :D

Sharpest at the moment is my Manix2 w/M4. I put a 24 degree inclusive back bevel (high mirror) and a 19 degree edge bevel on the blade. That thing cuts great and I can stand outside and see the reflection of tree branches above me in the reflection on the back bevel. The bevel is about 1/8" wide and looking at a reflection in it in contrast with a patina on the blade is impressive IMO. I used an EP to create the bevels and fine ceramic stones and strops to get the mirror finish and hair popping edge.
