It Could be, I think I am going to pass you should take it and put me out of my misery. I am getting the Lum Tanto for Christmas so I think that will keep me occupied for a whiile. I have heard that some of these have a bit of blade play, if thats a concern for you, it might be worhwhile to have them check it.ac700wildcat wrote:Hmmmmmmm, I wonder if you are looking at the same one as I am?? I'm tempted, very tempted, but if its the same one you should really buy it before I spend the money on it. :P
Have a chance to buy a Spyderco Para-Military2 Gray Sprint
:spyder: First of all just BUY IT and you will LOVE that PARA2 :D . . . . Para2 CTS-20CP is my current EDC and I am more than happy with the steel and the overall performance of the SPIDIE
. . . . Grey handles are my color and if sometimes get a little dirty it is so easy to clean, just a peace of cloth and some hot water will do the job
. . . . As for the price $200,00 is a very decent price to buy, I purchased one at $140,00 plus shipping when at first was available and the others $233,00 from e-bay  . . . . As for the steel take a look at the SPYDERCO steel cart and find out the differences between CTS-20CP and M390
. . . . I pre-ordered the blue PARA2 of course, but the grey one has better edge retention and i can say it by experience that it keeps nice the hair wittling mirror polished edge for long and the toothy edge for very loooooong (I reprofiled my PARA2 CTS-20CP at 13deg per side up to 6.000grit with my EDGE-PRO) . . . . Do not wait because the price will go up after Christmas  . . . . :spyder:

Sorry I am not quite understanding that are you saying you wouldn't hesitate to trade your regular Para 2 for the 20cp para 2?Evil D wrote:Another way to look at it, i sort of feel like my current Para 2 as costing me about $250 since it replaced another Para 2 that i ruined. I look at the one i have now and i would not hesitate to trade it straight up for a 20CP Para 2.
Only you can decide how much you can actually afford on a knife. It is, after all, just a knife (albeit a very good one!)
I'll be the first to admit that I have spent *entirely* too much on knives this year, but when I bought my Para2, I figured that relative to how much money I spend eating out at restaurants instead of bringing my lunch to work, the extra cost over the "regular" Para2 was no longer as significant :) .

Do you ever wonder why you do it to yourself? I do like the knife. I am probably looking for excuses not to buy it more than to buy it ... sometimes I think I should just stay off the internet ... at least untill January, ur ah ... no I'm not going to do that, thats just crazy talk.rodloos wrote:Only you can decide how much you can actually afford on a knife. Yeah i'm saying my mishap with my previous Para 2 led me to buying a second one, so now here i am still with just one standard S30V Para 2 (albeit a DLC version this time) and i've spent about $250 to still be with just one Para 2. In other words, if i could have spent that money on a 20CP version i'd be even more happy than i am now. So yeah, if i had the chance to trade my S30V DLC Para 2 for a 20CP Para 2, i would jump all over it.DRKBC wrote:Sorry I am not quite understanding that are you saying you wouldn't hesitate to trade your regular Para 2 for the 20cp para 2?

Don't let the grey g10 scare you away. It's super easy to clean with magic eraser and if the color really bothers you, you could always dye it. Ultimately, the grey g10 really grew on me and I only dyed it because it was a fun little project.
Definitely get it, it's a great knife and the steel is certainly a great performer.
Here is mine, dyed with wine colored rit dye:

[quote="chuck_roxas45"]Well here's just another reason to mull over.
I don't know whether to thank you for that or not :D bad, bad influences.
I think the good thing about the recession is that it has caused me to really tighten my belt ... rather than making a few large purchases now I just make a whole bunch of small ones, now that's fiscal responsibility :D
