Can't seem to find any info on it's release date anywhere. I heard, end of this year or beginning of next year. I can't wait for this one to come out. :)

Since it isn't in the catalog I would be expecting it in the 2nd half of 2012

EXCEPT that the Tuff is also not in the catalog and is supposed to be shipping in the near future.

I always chime in on these threads :) . I heard that they were having problems with the lock - but that they had solved the issue. I hope Sal can give some sort of ballpark on it.

I hope that it will still have a compression lock, that is one of the main reasons why I want that knife so badly. :)

For me it was the handle and blade shape. The Ayoob just did not do it for me (especially at the MSRP). I am hoping for decent value for money ratio with the Szab.

It should be around the same price as the Navaja.

I too would like to know because from the looks of the prototype the production model shouldn't be too far away....

Hi Lock,

Welcome to the Spyderco forum.

We just received the latest prototype. We've had some problems getting the lock strength and self close that we wanted. It's such a large blade that we're being careful. The latest looks really good. Will probably be another 6 months.

I am not sure, but it seems like I just read somewhere on here.maybe from Sal, that
it was still in the works and would be a little later in the year. THis is one that I am
waiting on as well. It's tough wait, but we all want it exactly like Laci, Sal and Eric
want it, so the wait is worth it. It's a sweet handle and sick looking blade for sure.
