Now this i would like to know ...what lock for the sage 5?...maybe will get lucky and Mr. Glesser would chime in..... :)

Good thought, Deacon. Sal used the button lock on the Solo 5 knife - and it is a neat little lock. It is basically just a liner lock actuated by a button that pokes up through the scales.

The Solo 5 was a lightweight, relatively inexpensive knife, and the button lock didn't feel very smooth or sophisticated on that model. With Spyderco's extraordinary engineering and a little larger product budget, I'm sure they could turn out a fantastic button-lock Sage...

That lock might work Ted, but it's totally different from the Wm Henry style button lock. The button on this one has a jewel in the center, but not all of them do...

The AG Russell/Crawford lock has been mentioned by Sal as "interesting".
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

Anyone know who designed the button lock Boker uses? I'm out of touch with the Automatic knife world, but Boker and a few others use the same button lock for manual and auto openers.
