I'm quite sure only the serrated version is being disco'd, no?

edit: Nope, they both are being discontinued.

They are great knives!

I had a PE version last year, dyed the handle black. It looked great.

Just thought i would point this out.... The discontinued list is just a few threads below this one. The OP ( Spyderco employee ) posted the list here on friday and shortly after posted it on bladeforums. Its not too common to see news on bladeforums first.

If I`m not mistaken the spyderhawk was intended to be sprint run and not for full production.

It wasn't. Check the timestamps on Dan's posts. On 12/2 he posted it on this forum at 11:22am Eastern time and on the BF Spyderco forum at 11:27am Eastern time.

They mentioned the yellow handle model was being discoed maybe there's a BA k handle model in the works or maybe a VG 10 model. I can dream anyway. Really wish I had the money to buy a spare se model

Just got one for $58. Not sure if that's a steal but was a good enough price for me.

The Salt Series needs a Powerhouse Hawkbill

#13

Post by JD Spydo »

 I don't get it   Two dealers I've recently talked to told me that they had sold several of the H-1 Spyderhawks.

Now if they're going back to making them in VG-10 again I can sort of understand it. But to whack a great Salt Series model from the line up there must be a valid reason. Because if the Harpy continues to be a steady seller I'm sure that the Spyderhawk would be as well.

They must just be thinking about selling the Spyderhawk in another blade steel I hope :( Because the Salt Series needs a Powerhouse Hawkbill to make the series available in a wide array of variants.

Just got my paycheck yesterday. I will be getting at least one of each variant. Wasn't counting on that one :( Man oh man the "holiday blues can really get to you at times

H-1 Superhawk? Yeah if they make it in Spyderedge

Hey Brother I could dig an H-1 Superhawk for sure>> But only if they would make it available in Spyderedge.

To me that was a crime not to make the original Superhawk available in SE

My advice to everyone here listening to the words on this thread is to immediately get both variants of the H-1 Spyderhawk and to also get a set of the 701 Profiles. this just ain't right because my knife world is truly coming unraveled at this point  :D

All these years I am debating with myself if i need one. And if yes, which one PE or SE. May both. I need to get soon, very soon. It is too bad that I missed deal on Black Friday at GPK. :(

YES!!! Lord Vader  :D I am reading this. It kind of reminds me of an old Country & Western Song my dad used to play>> it was entitled "RUB it IN, RUB IT IN

Yeah dude you're a member of the "I GOT MINE CLUB" aren't you  :D

Don't worry ol' buddy I'm getting my postal money order ready today. Maybe it's GOD's way of equiping me with an arsenal of Super-Hawkbills for a rainy day yet to come.

Yes there definitely is a Silver Lining inside this sudden dark cloud

But again if they are going to do the Spyderhawk in VG-10 again or maybe even make them available in one of the Super-Steels then I'll be able to forgive them. They just can't in good conscience whack the Spyderhawk from the line up  Unless they might have a new Super Hawkbill in the pipeline. Maybe it's time to start another big Hawkbill thread
