The next Mule

#1

Post by Hector Castro »

Does anyone know when the next mule will be released?
It would be nice to have a mule for Christmas, since the last mule was flawed.

I know there is a poll going for the next steel type, but I am sure Golden was already working on one!

Please release a mule for Christmas!

I doubt that will affect the schedule. Production scheduling probably sets the release date of each mule way in advance. I think that 3 per year is the target, so you may get your wish.

Up to this point, it's been 4 per year. Most of them became available at the beginning of the quarter, but I'd have to go back and look at the Edge-U-Cation in the M390 box to make sure. I don't ever remember one coming out just before Christmas.

I'm anxious for the next one, whatever it is. Have my BD-1 on my belt right now.

Super Blue came out in December of last year, or at least that is when my receipt says I bought mine.

Hi Hector,

We've heat treated the Cruware Mule and will be re-releasing, we hope before Christmas. Actually it tested quite well on CATRA.

Stupid car insurance renewal fees ate me up. I might miss out on the 2 I sent back.

So will there be any for those of us who are late to the party?

My understanding is that 1) not all were sold at time of release because problem was discovered while Spyderco still had stock 2) those of us who sent ours in for re heat treat received refunds with understanding that returned mules did not reserve pieces for re release. My advice is--if you want this Mule, pay attention to release announcements on the forum. Get your account set up with Spyderco Factory Outlet, and login to buy as soon as possible to release day and hour. Buy early and often!

Good news on the release. I just got my first Mule and it's currently out getting handles put on, so I really need another one... right?

Hi Sal,

Does this mean that the Elmax Mule won't be released until March or April? If it comes out earlier, I'll need to make arrangements for someone to pick one up for me. I missed the S90V mule due to being in Mexico too long. I hate it when that happens. ;)

Thanks, Gordon
