Be honest, how many others do this?
Not that I thought that I was the only one that does this, but I have been hearing this alot lately. I really hate to keep things from My Wife, but why
upset Her, when thing normally are going great!!!

I heard of a Spyderco addict support group. The first meeting went well. To celebrate a great meeting and new friends they all went to the local knife store. Out came money, checkbooks and credit cards. :D The support group quickly became a Spyderco club. The next thing you know they'll start a way for Knife addicts to get together worldwide, maybe on computers or something.
BTW, my Pacific Salt (black blade, plain edge) came yesterday. :D My first H1 knife. I'm liking it very much a lot. It came very sharp. I had to give it an edge tune-up though. I couldn't help myself. :) The H1 pops hairs now. I lubed it up real good with Tuf-Glide, not for corrosion, just for a glidier opening and closing. I'm anxious to see how the edge retains the edge. It rides very nicely in my hip pocket and my new Spyderco sheath (not a Spyderco product) also.

Jeesh, do you HAVE to encourage the addiction, you mean pusher :D But you're right, of course. Just waiting till they show up in stores that do international shipping :o :D

Well Suzie, it sounds like you are encouraging the pusher. :) Keep up the good work. :D It's just fun, this knife business.
Wow , I'm learning so much from posting this thread. As i have been reading everyone's thoughts and replies I find myself filling up a notebook worth of cheat sheets (beat wife home = great idea , keep telling myself I'm not a sneak over and over = will help with any guilt). I will keep my eyes and ears open for any local support groups. But seriously , there's not enough counseling in the world to quench my constant thirst for Spyedercos.
Sage 3 is my next purchase and it will be in my hands shortly. I want to build a Spyderco shrine in my spare bedroom with candles and everything. Is that weird ? :)
after my last order, an orange endura and delica about two weeks ago, i think, i told my wife i will stop ordering knives for a wee bit, well...not true! i just ordered two byrd hawkbills and another byrd meadowlark frn, i just gave my byrd meadowlark frn to my adopted daughter, so i need to order another one! but i should be done ordering now, actually...nah! there are so many more spydies that i do not own and i really, really need to own them.
I had the fever but it is slowing down right now. Now I just feel the need for a few Sprint runs. I'm sure there will be more but I don't feel the need to buy everything and it has to have a lot of features I like. I started out just buying everything because I didn't know how it would feel in hand. Now I have gotten pretty good at figuring out what I like. I also felt like I had to buy 2 or 3 for a backup or to use to trade later on for another knife that may be hard to find. But now I can buy just 1. I did just preorder 2 of the M390 Militaries. It is getting better for the most part though.
I don't see myself selling off my unused knives but I might sell off my multiples one day. It is nice to have more spare cash. There are other toys I can buy now without questioning myself. Toys are very important after all and variety is nice.

That it is Jack, that it is :D But apart from the fun part this knife business is also quite useful. Which keeps my guilt about buying new knives somewhat in check. Imagine, I had to go on a one day business trip today by plane which of course meant no knives And you wouldn't believe how often I thought, man, where's my Spydie, this darned box just won't open. Would also have been nice to have it around for lunch break.

Sal and company are the most well organized, under the radar, legal form of drug dealers i've ever dealt with. They get you hooked on your first hit and it's all down hill from there. Once it's in your veins, you and your wallet are in for it.

Being without a knife is somehow very unsettling. If I left my wallet at home I wouldn't feel as bad (as long as I knew where it was) as I would when I realized I didn't have a knife with me. There was a thread about going to work and forgetting your knife a few months ago. I was amazed at how many people confessed they have an EDC in the car and in their desk (or somewhere) at work also for the days they leave home without grabbing a knife. One day plane trips could be bad because you might not take a bag with you that you would check. Next time just take an extra purse with your knife of choice in it and check it. :D

There have been jokes on this forum about support groups for Spyder-holics. Maybe we should tell jokes about groups for the spouses and family members of Spyder-holics. :D
If my wife joined her introduction would be "Hello, My name is Jamie and I beat the sh** out of my husband."

Nope, way too much hassle, since this would mean getting in earlier to check in luggage and waiting later for the bag to appear at baggage claim. That's ususally one to two hours extra. That's not even counting in the risk of lost luggage. I think I'd rather live without a knife for one day - to all the more enjoy my EDC blades when I'm back :D

Jack
I NEVER leave home without at least one knife and usually more. I have different "sets" of knives that I carry for office, home and then work. Example, I have a set of knives already In my jean\shorts that I will put on when I get home from the office to go out and do some farm work. I switch the office knives to what I will be wearing the next day.
When I get in from working and take a shower, I already have a set in my "home" clothes that I wear around the house. (I know, I have issues, but then again, I am always prepared. I also have a flashlight, extra batteries, small pair of plyers and migraine pills in each each set) Then I ALWAYS check my pockets before leaving the house, just to make sure. I can get by without a phone, wallet etc, but never without a Spyderco, (and a Glock).

You sound like the guy who leaves the house with everything but forgets to put a pair of socks on his feet. :D

True enough, and I hadn't even though about a lost bag.
Ok reading this thread made me look at what I have done this year, Sprints killed me. :spyder: It is a DAILY habit. Checking in here, all my favorite online stores, those USPS little white boxes keep arriving.
