Earth?

#1

Post by geardog32 »

Is the Golden Colorado Earth stamp a sense of humor on the part of spyderco or are they really being that specific? I have been taking it as a sense of humor but am somewhat confused.

I tried to find something about this with the search feature to no avail.

Wouldn't want to be confused with Middle Earth, or Earth 2. :p

A sense of humor is hard to find in corporate America. Appreciate it when it arises.

No, not seriously. I think that's the point.

Just think if the knife is discovered in 2 or 3 hundred years on some distant asteroid … they'll know it was made on good old earth - they way they used to make 'em.

None of that fusion forging or plasma ion milling … this is a real knife.

;)

I wouldn't buy a knife that's made in Mars. They can make the best knives in the solar system but the government there is way too totalitarian for me. :p

Also they use that crappy steel with all those numbers. ;)

How badass would it be to see a Spyderco in S90V still cutting things on some distant planet several hundred years from now?

Then again, a different atmosphere and gravity might mess up the matrix in the steel...

always took it seriously. really

i liked the idea of specifics ,
i mean the first time i saw it on the Native or whichever Spyderco knife
even though and especially since there was no other knife maker saying which planet
their product was made on.

Earth , pretty cool place also. i've lived here all my life.

and of course Golden is pretty cool.

If I was a non-knife person I would buy a Spyderco simply because it had "Earth" on the blade. That rocks.

some of you may get a kick out of this...some may think im crazy

me and a close knife buddy of mine are both into the history channel show "ancient aliens" if you dont know about it they basically equate many of mankinds greatest inventions and discoveries with knowledge being passed down to us by ancient aliens in the past.

we joke that spyderco has alien technology, or maybe even aliens working for them???
How else could a single company bring so much innovation to the knife community in such a small amount of time such as the pocket clip, one handed open, and spyder edge???
the only explanation is alien technology :D :D :D
of course, as of now all we have are the earth models.

:spyder: :spyder: :spyder:

hope yall didnt think i was too wacky HAHA
and of course...i dont REALLY think anyone at spyderco is an alien

Everyone knows the Golden factory was built on the ruins of an inter-dimensional gateway, originally built by ancient Cheyenne tribes.

I'm an admirer of Spyderco's designs. Using them is like immersing yourself in music or studying a painting in a museum. I buy some "fine" art but my preference is for usable art.

I have a picture in my mind of alien guests at area 51 stopping by the duty free on the way home picking out spydercos, Silver Jewelry, and "357 Mad Dog Collector's Edition " super hot sauce to take back to Cygnus.

Perhaps a good single malt as well.
